hello! can the black magic 4k studio record 4k with the atem mini pro iso? on google it says it cannot handle 4k quality video. im confused, does that mean i have to record on the individual bm 4k studio cameras on ssd? instead of recording on the atem mini pro iso?

Hi, just wondering if knows if the 4K Plus (version with only HDMI) will allow a SDI-based switcher like the ATEM TV studio pro 4k control the camera via a 12g bi-direc convertor? So in this case I wasnt to run a 4k Plus that will be fed into a Bi-Direc 12g SDI convertor, with an SDI feed going into the switcher. An SDI feed out from the switcher will then be connected into the convertor's SDI input. Am I being silly or would that work in theory?

Hello, Thank you for the video. It is terrific. Would we have all the 2 way functionality of the HDMI connection in the following scenario? HDMI out from the camera - BM Micro converter to SDI - BM micro converter to HDMI - into a ATEM Mini Pro. We have SDI from the camera to the switcher. However we only have one lead. Can you use camera control over sdi with an atem sdi switcher? Or would you need to use the sdi in on the camera for that?

Hi I got a question so I tried to livestream using same camera (Blackmagic studio camera 4k pro :the HDMI cable (the length was 6ft) went from the camera to the Atem mini pro I was trying to stream in OBS but the image was too blurry and bad Any tips please would help thank you in advance

Just get a bmpcc, DJI RS2 and a middle things apc-r, and you'll have exactly this!

Can you set your color for the studio camera and then save that so that the item boots with that setting every time? I have tried with no success so far.

Thanks for the tip! I am running my first show with the pro studio cameras next week! One question though, is it possible to have camera control with this method when using multiple cameras? That's the kicker. Since you only have one output on the atem (two of your using the extreme) I imagine that you can't just use an HDMI splitter as EDID would probably get in the way. However, I would be curious to just see what happens.

Thanks for this awesome content. We subscribed! We have BM Studio 4k Cameras and recently got the Atem Extreme. However, I never see the green light on the keyboard - we only see the Red light. Is there something we are doing wrong?

You are not doing anything wrong. There are two modes of operation on the ATEM. Preview/Program a shown in my video, and the cut mode which you are using. In my case I can preview any shot before putting it live. This setting can be changed in the “ATEM Setup Utility” app

As the ATEM Extreme is only 1080p dose BMD have a 1080p camera? I feel 4k camera is a waste as I'm not planning on doing any 4k switching anytime soon

While the ATEM is only 1080p, BMD already make 4k switchers and I suspect they will release more soon enough. You also get the added benefit in this case of running your love show at 1080p but being to deliver an edit in 4k.

I love the idea of using network cable for data and POE, but can't see a viable way to do this with my Atem Mini Extreme Iso. Even if I use the studio converter box I'd then have to convert its SDI output to HDMI for my Atem. Anyone know a better way around this?

Not really, I think the POE solution is really for SDI switchers as the complexity grows beyond a usable measure.

the camera mapping on my extreme only shows either Blackmagic or none...... no cameras show up at kzbin.info/www/bejne/p2bGq3xnqsmcpdE I may add this is with just a bmpcc 4k plugged in. Full colour control though.

You should probably update your ATEMs software to get those options. It’s not needed if things are working on your end, but good to know especially if you get more cameras and mix and match different models.

Still not impressed. Why didn't blackmagic studio camera 4k plus/pro go all out? High and low angle of view practicality is very bad in practical use if the viewfinder image cannot be viewed. Why doesn't blackmagic design allow the viewfinder to tilt up and down? It's going to have the versatility and beautiful angles that a studio should be. For a little while, you'll be dominating the market in this industry but you don't make it happen. Hopefully this comment the design engineers of blackmagic design will see and make it.
