Colapz Fresh Mini (Serviced Pitches)

Another great video thanks. I've been using my Colapz Fresh Mini all year now in the UK and France. I don't use the stand, instead I place it on a square of butyl rubber mat. I have also bought a 90° brass hose connecter to replace the vertical hose connector. This makes the Colapz Fresh Mini more stable and reduces its overall height so I can usually place it underneath the caravan on a level pitch. I also bought the optional insulation kit. This helps keep the water from freezing in the Winter and during the June heatwave in France it kept the water cool. I can assure you that providing the flow from the tap is sufficient the caravan pump will not empty the Colapz Fresh Mini, even when using the shower. Colapz have done their homework. I must admit though, I don't colapse my Colapz Fresh Mini when I'm not using it. I find it keeps its shape better and it's easily stored in the front locker. Regards, Steve

Some great advice there and yes I do think they have done their homework, this is well thought out and a great addition to our kit. The size is also superb as we don’t often use service pitches but whilst we were away we had a couple in Europe that were service pitches so for something that takes up such small space and we can have this with us all the time. Hi another great video. This may be a little late for you now, because you’ve already purchased the Colapz system. However an alternative is the direct connection system by Whale. There’s no water container or float valve, the hose connects direct from the tap to the caravan. There’s a pressure reduction valve to ensure the caravan water pipe system is not damaged by excess water pressure, and water is drawn through the system by the on board pump, or only using mains pressure if it’s an external pump (obsolete when mains connected). It comes with a flat hose which saves a lot of space. Works great. Cheers from John & Al 👍

In North American made trailers and motorhomes there is direct water hookups that don't require external equipment in order to get water into the trailer.

For around the same price you can buy the hose with a flow control fitted and your brand of fitment for your caravan which connect straight to the water supply and caravan doing away with any need for water containers and ball cock systems.

Great review ,did try my one out in April this year and was brilliant. The only problem I could see was the hose supplied was to firm and the top filling valve should be on a 45% angle. Found the hose trying to lift off the filling lid in the wind. Used my own water hose found it allot better. Excellent product just needs tweaking a little bit but saves space and weight.

In seven years of caravaning I've never owned a container. I use the Whale Watermaster direct mains water hookup. Click one end on the tap, plug the other into the caravan, turn on the tap, job done. Comes with 7.5m hose and I've also got the Whale 7.5m extension hose. Truma also do a direct mains connection called Ultraflow Waterline, comes with 15m of hose. Interesting detailed video. We love our colapz mini. Treated ourselves at the beginning of this season. We didn't have any instructions with ours, so a quick hunt on KZbin to find the colapz guys brief demo and the rest we muggled along ourselves. The shaking and wiggling at first was a little alarming, but since learning that we need to half fill it first before connecting, this has stopped. Fully recommend this, it ticks every box. Well done to you both on this demo. Wish it was out there when we first had ours. Thanks.😁👍

Great video J & K I’ve had one several months since buying from Colapz as soon as they came out Once we got used to set up it’s been fantastic Even when we had really high winds it never budged Had a few problems with it overflowing but that was due to the pipe that goes into van ( we have on board pump) touching the valve and causing the Colapz to overfill. Few problems with it bouncing around but that was due to inlet water pressure being too high. Found it more stable on the ground than on the stand. All in all after almost a dozen outings it’s a great product ( apart from fact I’ve lost the tap somehow that fits on top ) Thanks for your vlogs Best regards HOWARD

Here we Tow the only thing I haven’t tried. Which I don’t think you mentioned was the winter cover ( mine came with it as it was bought pre release), but I didn’t see you have one. After a trip and you are packing up, it’s easy to remove the lid, wipe out and dry and then put it away, rather than your aquaroll having residual water in it. As we tend to only go on fully serviced it’s been great but as you say it’s not for everyone I guess some people enjoy dragging 40litres of water across a wet field Thanks again to both of you for quality well produced informative vlogs

We are the same - didn’t have anything when away in Europe so thought would use this as it’s so easy as a back up with the weight and size. We will be testing for some time when on service pitches now. 👍 Cheers for watching and commenting. 😊

Hi, thanks for this video. Interested idea but some viewers such as myself would have liked to understand the weight difference to the aqua roll. Is it that much less than an empty aqua roll which sits in the shower when travelling? Appreciate you say not for everyone (assume if you already have an aqua roll etc) and just wondering if you can purchase without the hose as this is expensive on its own and some people may already have. Great idea for new to caravaning and just sourcing bits. Many thanks

Great video as always. Like you said, it isn't for everyone. We already have the water barrel and a continuous water system that screws into the side of the barrel. We're not on a serviced pitch at the moment so we have to fill up the barrel the old-fashioned way.

Another great review guys, thank you for that. I really rate the quality of Colapz kit and have been really impressed with all the bits we have currently purchased. Not sure about this one tbh, as we have the direct connection for a Whale fitting, which works exceptionally well and means a container is not needed? Stand back you’re going to get wet 😂 Loved the vlog, the Fresh Mini looks good and I would like that when you pack up you only pour out four litres of water instead of a half full Aquaroll. It would be easy to wipe of too so it’s not foisty. The base looked a bit wobbly so not sure how good that would be. Thanks guys

Thanks Louise - I feel like I gave ample warning. 😂😂 💦💦. Yeah we are still trying it and feel that it’s just more stable on the floor and works perfectly well on the floor. Just ordered one on Amazon. The price has dropped 25% to £49.99. Ideal for us for Holland trip in summer. Always have a comfortplats (superpitch) and this means I don’t have to take the aqua roll or waste master as they are bulky and usually just stored under the van for the holiday. We do have a back up of an onboard water tank in case this doesn’t work.

Yes we have used it since and it is really good for a serviced pitch. They have also just updated the fresh mini to make it more stable and to draw more water in to it at a higher speed. Its to do with the valve now been at the bottom. If you buy anything fromColapz this link currently gives 5% off. Hi William, I don’t know how much more they were over standard but if you’re in a caravan it makes like easier as the water points were few and far between from what I noticed. Having a Motorhome we have a large onboard tank so its not as much of an issue. That said, we showered each night so used quite a bit of water. It was easy to fill up from our own tap and be able to drain the waste water straight in to the drain. I don’t usually book a serviced pitch but this was worthwhile. I know they are becoming much more popular in general, especially as people use their on board facilities more. Karina

Cannot see the point as you already have your other water containers with you, just buy the float valve for you aquarol or waterhog and some food grade hose, why make things more complicated.

As you say David once I have bought those extras then it would be nearly the price I have paid for this. To have the added convenience of the full kit it works well. As we say this isn’t for everyone but want to show products that people may be interested in. 😊👍

Really, this kit cost £65 on Amazon, but no longer a available if younfollow your link. The hose, with the float and all the tap bits for your existing water containers are about £19, big difference, so getting all the bits yourself will cost nowhere near the cost of this Colpaz fresh mini.

Sorry, but what a lot of faffing about, too much to put together. The aquaroll seems much quicker. If you need to follow instructions, then it is too complicated. For the amount of space you save it is not worth it. I do love their waste pipe system however, but this is not for me.
