Standard Finnish vs. Spoken Finnish

Pretty much yeah, also it varies from a person to person and regionally. So i could imagine it's very fucked up for a foreigner. "Minä en tiedä" -> "En tiiä", "mä en tiiä", "emmä tiiä", "emmää tiärä", "en mie tiiä" and if you'll just add some normal mumbling like "jaa-a, mä en kyl tiiä" (like "hmm, I don't actually know") it just gets more confusing.

​@@Peenikestandard, spoken is impossible to learn, hundreds of dialects and personaly preferrences, it is not possible to fully know spoken finnish, book finnish is the easiest amd everyone understands it unlike mostly can't understand some dialect words, same words could have different meaning in different dialects, as an example hässäkkä is mostly known as some stupidly confusing building or build but in savo murre it means womens genitals😅

I say either "en tiiä" or "en (mä) tiiä" or if for example you're at home and someone might ask "Where did X get put to?" I might say "Mä en tiiä", emphasising that I don't know, but someone else might

I have been living in Finland for 3 years, but still struggling with the Finnish language. It's really complicated to learn it, when they are not social.. All of my friends are foreigners and we struggle speaking the language+ learning it.. And sometimes I wonder if they will be annoyed if I speak in English.. Is it ok to use English all the time? So here's my opinion on this: I don't think we Finns would find it annoying, some people might even be happy to speak some English. (At least I would.) Many people know English quite well, so why don't give it a shot? :)
