When I was 7, he was my idol. I got to see the Hermits live a couple of times. Great stuff. He’s still the shizzle fo rizzle. Yeah, I said it.

If Peter's mum was born in 1926 and she was 83 as he spoke, this recording must have been made in 1909.

You mean 2009, but yeah it couldn't be 2012 or 2013.
@TWTexasA12 жыл бұрын
Just to clear things up this show was in approximately 2012 or 13. Peter was born in 1947 , so he was 64 or 65 at this filming…

I think this is one of the best songs of the 60s. It is so hook laden you really cannot believe it. I don't even know who wrote it. and he is doing a great job and the band is really tight.
@danwhite4294 Жыл бұрын
A guy named Graham Gouldman wrote it. I don't know if he was ever part of the Hermits or maybe 10cc. He tells the story in a video on youtube.
@mark-wh2qc Жыл бұрын
@@danwhite4294 He was bassist Vocalist and songwriter for 10CC, he also wrote For Yor Love performed by Yardbirds, Bus Stop performed by The Hollies amongst others..

It was the arrangement that made this a classic song. The arrangement was done by John Paul Jones later of Led Zeppelin. In the sixties he was a session musician and arranger contributing to countless hits. He was actually a big fan of the Hermits.
@jv-ep2tc Жыл бұрын
@@mark-wh2qc hard to believe those gold nuggets came from one brain. there's an acoustic performance by 10cc [perhaps not all original members] on YT that is nothing less than astonishing.
