I also have a royal KHM that is experiencing skipping problems. I actually solved the Remington issue, which was the comment on the last video.

Thanks for the quick response. When the keys are hit, the carriage does not move; when the spacebar is hit, the carriage does not move. In your video Royal Quiet DeLuxe Typewriter Repaired Jammed Spacebar, Typebar, Back Space. Escapement Stuck, which lever is shown to be adjusted in case of such a breakdown, perhaps the Optima also needs to be adjusted?

Optima design is completely different than a Royal, nothing will compare . Yes troubleshooting is needed, I just can't do that long distance, I need the typewriter in-front of me to diagnose

I disassembled the device, the problem is visible in the asterisk that takes a step, when you press the spacebar, there is no return of the pendulum and the asterisk remains pressed, and when you press the letter key, the asterisk does not press until the end and you need to hit the key harder, I will adjust. I hope you will understand my explanations, this is my first experience of repairing a typewriter. Thanks for the replies and video.

With my IBM Selectric II, when backspace or correction is used, it rotates the roller one line instead of backspacing. Is there a simple solution to this, or a video I could follow to fix this?

Hello, IBM selectric use the same cam for back space, return & index. During back space operation return/index are bypassed, 1st thing is to see why the bypass isn't working Could be a bad part. Sorry no video for this this one
