I would really like to find an Ambassador like that. I saw one once but it was missing the back-panel and a knob. Not worth the money they were asking for it.

I had one of these for a couple of decades. Though I'm a big Underwood and Olivetti office manual fan, this machine had the best touch of any manual I used over decades. I just ran out of room for it and got too old to move it around, so gave it to another typewriter guy who still uses it. What is it about the Swiss that their machines are so great? I used a Hermes Baby as my 'touring' typewriter, strapped on my bicycle all over the country while I was in college...

I always thought the German machines were the best! But yes, the Swiss typewriters were great in their own right as well. I forgot whether I traded this or sold it, or gave it away, but it had great action, youre right 👍

Hiya, I just bought the exact model yesterday but it keeps skipping letters and if i type fast the keys get stuck, any help would be greatly appreciated x

‼👍 Haha they are very smooth typers, these old desktop models. This one in particular had a very quick touch, great action. It did take up an awful lot of space though!
