Congratulations on your new bag. It’s gorgeous. Love the lining and the pink gold ! Would love to see you do a comparison between the two sizes of picotins and what fits in each. Also some mod shots so we can get a better grasp of how big each one really is. I find lots of things look big on camera but in real life they are not nearly as big as the look . Loved this video Meredith! I’m glad you left out all of the spend history and subjective parts as yes, you’re right, it’s not always relevant and every store/country is different. Sydney boutique is in a league of its own too! The ‘selfish detail’ is such a cool touch and I’m glad you went with this combo. The pink stitching would have been way too OTT and wouldn’t have blended with the overall look of the bag, so I’m glad you picked what you did! Bit sad you didn’t get the experience in the store, but you get the bag in the end which is all that matters! Congrats on her she’s beautiful xx

Thanks love. Hermes is not McDonald’s, your experience is not the same in every store so I really feel that spend etc becomes irrelevant to anyone not shopping at my store with my SA. To do that o felt almost like it would be clickbait.

What kinds of things have you loved and purchased? If you could only buy LV or only buy Hermes or only buy Fendi, and get whatever you want, without the Hermes limits, which brand would you choose? It was a really interesting video that I enjoyed. Birkins don’t particularly appeal to me, but I do love the Picotins that were behind you! They have so much character.

Hi ! I'm from Paris and in the courtyard of my building there IS a craft workshop with frames. In the showcase "window" there are photos of celebrities from the 60's and the 70's and you Can notice a black/white photo of Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin with her iconic "Birkin". thank you for your story. What a great opportunity especially since it seemed like everyone is so “you need to buy to get an offer”. I wish my SA was as encouraging. She’s nice but relatively new to Hermes so I’m not sure what she’s able to do for me. Even when I go into the store, there’s limited stock (in the popular items) in the stores I frequent.I’m going to Las Vegas next month and it will be interesting to see if that/those stores have more inventory. It’s goats leather inside which is the easiest to keep clean. I chose the colour but the leather type was automatic

Thanks for sharing. My experience was really similar with my relationship with my sales associate. You def don’t need to include spend history on your video as it’s so subjective and different in many stores/countries. I have been offered my wish list items regularly which has been amazing. I have yet to be offered a special order but my sales associate is hopeful I won’t have to wait too long. I am blessed to even be considered so I am of course happy to wait! I am always thinking and researching in case I get the call but at present I have no idea what I would do.

Wishlists in the UK are limited to one Birkin or Kelly (or, maybe, Constance?) at a time, so that's quite different to Australia. Fascinating to hear the differences in the process in different countries.... Also, that you could walk into the Sydney store and get an Hermès bag - over here, it's hugely lucky to get even the least sought after bags at any of our London standalone boutiques or concessions. Re: the resale market... a reseller in London has just sold a regular black B30 with rose gold hardware in 9/10 condition for nearly £18k. Craziness. LOVE your HSS bag 😍 Think it's actually super sensible to go for a bag you're going to use and love, rather than something that's designed purely to look like a special order!

Thank you so much. We can have whatever we like on a Wishlist but ultimately it doesn’t matter if I have 100 birkins listed, I’ll still only get offered what they deem appropriate in terms of quotas. The bag I got was the grooming bag so it’s actually part of their equestrian range and not considered a bag as such.

Congratulations on your special order Birkin! I am glad that you did not go with what's popular (smaller sized bags) but with what you truly loved. BTW, even though Sydney is competitive, it's no comparison to some part of Asia, where the spend to bag ratio could go as high as 8:1. Your bag luck does not 100% correlate to how much you spend, but what you bought, it nevertheless has a strong correlation to the amount you spend. People just have to realize that it's the game that you need to play, I don't understand people complain about this when there are so much information out there, you should have known before you go in. As you said Meredith, do your research. Congratulations again! I am sure a Kelly is on the way~

Its great to have been offered, but as we all know buying certain items like ready to wear, sweaters etc always will get you high in the list. Here in Miami there are too many women that are high spenders. 2years buying stuff and 2 sales associates and still waiting. when they tell you im so sorry but I have people here that spend $50,000 in 1 appointment, so imagine, my competition...If I can go and spend $5000.00 every month, I would probably already have one. its so sad, but in any of this fashion houses, the more you spend, the best they treat you.

Not a question but a suggestion. You should get a Birkin or a Kelly with sterling silver hardware. It’s actually the rarest of all the meals for Hermes to use and I think it is just gorgeous against all of the leathers and colors.

If you pass them down to your children, they can decide whatever they want to do with these bags… it is such a burden to put on them when you said you would be roll over in your grave if they ended up selling these bags. Material things aren’t that serious.

Of course they aren’t, and of course my kids can sell them. At least they will have assets they can sell, but realistically my kids won’t need the cash if I do what I’m able to.
