As someone who doesn't buy into the Hermes hype, I have to disagree with your last comment - from what I understand, there's definitely a lot of pressure to buy whatever is put in front of you at Hermes. Yes you may have to wait months or years until you're offered a quota bag, but don't you only have like 2 days to rush into the store and decide whether or not to buy that very expensive bag which may or may not be exactly what you want? And then there's the pressure of worrying about not being offered anything else if you turn down the offer, and the pressure of having to spend on all sorts of other items to receive an offer at all. Of course you can buy into their games as much as you like, it's your money - but it's a bit disingenuous to pretend that Hermes is somehow not after your money any more than LV or any other business.

Actually, Hermés gave me such nice time to evaluate the bag and really consider if i wanted my B25. I had two full weeks before i had to pick it up.

Hermes quality and workmanship is top notch and takes time to produce, no arguments there. Howerver as a 60 min interviewer, that was pathetic. The interviewer was clearly terrified of offending the Hermes CEO. When she brought up the lawsuit, he was clearly annoyed and said it was just a matter of "waiting". But that's not the issue, the issue is having to prespend to be offered a quota bag. If its just an issue of waiting then everyone should be able to put in a wish-list/order and wait 1-2 years to get the bag they want.

I feel like the quota bag thing from Hermès absolutely is pressure to buy. People fear that if they don't buy what is offered, they will never get the chance once something they DO want is "available". It's a more complicated type of pressure perhaps, but it absolutely is a form of FOMO.

I call BS on the P9 Speedy. Yes it is soft because it is lamb skin.I went in boutique and did take a look at on one. No way is it as nice as a Birken. Firstly…construction wise it is not a difficult design. It’s that basic Boston bag shape that is not difficult to construct. Ask yourself this. If the “soft speedy” in black lamb skin is $38OO then for an additional 6k you are getting leather that is dyed with the LV monogram…then you are basically paying for the emblem inside..the fancy dust bag, and a limited run dye job…and that is no where worth an additional 6k. I do not have a Birkin but I do have a vintage Bolide Secret…that got spa’ed and at 4O years old made from ultra durable goatskin it looks just as good as my newer lux bags, plus I have a beautiful toolbox 2O in Clemence. Jess my biggest problem with LV is the downgraded quality of most of their canvas pieces…my vintage LV’s are made so much better. LV has turned into luxury fast fashion. You can not have thousands of boutiques around the world and expect handmade quality. For me I will only consider the trunk inspired pieces as those are still made in house in france. And forget about Chanel…I will only look at vintage or pre 2O1O. My two cents

I agree with everything you said Jess 🙏 One thing I do like more about LV is that some of their bags come with fun embellishments (ie. studs, hardware, chains etc.) whereas you have to dress up Hermes bags with twillys/charms yourself if you want any embellishment. Without them, they are a bit plain for my tastes. Love how you've dressed up all of yours! ❤️

Business is foremost about making money. applaud to Herms able to do that while still making quality bag! I think it is increasingly hard to do in public traded company, I think that is why Herms fought hard to stay private not get bought by Lvmh. Jesse so you are so convincing, you make me want to buy more Hermes’! But they are expensive. I personally don’t think the price justifies the quality regardless how good it is, it is the whole facade that Hermes’ is trying to project. They are obviously so successful at it! Thus here we are!

The zip stitching in my alma bb has come undone and LV estimate it'll cost me $350 to replace and restitch the zip. I bought that alma bb years ago and it probably only cost around AUD1,500 back then (from Europe tax free) and now they're doubled in price. I can't believe there's no guarantee on helping me with it.

You all are paying for the design or artwork and the brands name because leather and thread will deteriorate. If people used those bags like it a normal bags it wouldn’t look that nice. I would say a saddle bags that cowboys use is better quality than the things you buy at the boutique.

Jess, I bought one Speedy 30 B this year in DE this year and I also bought a key pouch from 2001. I was going to buy the 4 ring key holder. But I’m done with LV. I bought a small LV agenda which I had to send back for a replacement this summer. I’m going to dip my toe into Hermes. Chanel and LV aren’t worth it but mostly who has the time to do returns?!

The first and only bags I really like are the new Arçon and the Halzan❤Personally I really like their shoes and scarfs! I will probably never buy a quota bag simply because they are not my style. Don't think you need to get them just because you see them on influencers or rich people.

Please please please Jessy drop having such title and encourage price hikes. Hermés does pressure into buying, lots of scarfs i like, every time i want to buy something the SA say this might be the last one etc. It is stressful when SAs plays into the scarcity since the prices are so high etc. Also with bags and some charms they go out so fast that one have to buy and pay asap, on the foot standing in the boutique. Also Hermés dont spa inside the bag, they dont do any recolour, so think about this when choosing a color and type of skin on the bag.

Hermes has a very smart work ethic and also keep their products availability under control-which in the way keep their customers hold their Hermes bags longer at the same time holding the value unlike like those LVMA products and Chanel bags are mass productions don’t retain their value that said these brands keep on up their pricing to offset BUT ended up it back fire 🔥as the result show last quarter 33% down. NOT very wise at all.

The Murikami collection really holds no interest for me. Looks busy and cheap. I love my Hermes bags. I have collected them over 15 years. They last and never look dated. My first Birkin from 2010 looks amazing to this day and doesn’t scream 2010 in any way. I think Dumas was throwing shade at LV and Chanel with the expensive vs. costly explanation. I got a good laugh at his low key Hermes on brand shade!😂
