Hi Mike, thanks this run through. I'm considering purchasing the Hermes Lite 2+ or the Square sdr and the Hardrock 50+ amplifier, but leaning towards the Hermes Lite as it is modular in it's construction i.e. the mainboard, filter board and io board are all separate so if one should fail only that part needs replacing. The Square sdr is an all in one board so if one part fails the whole board will need replacing if repairing is uneconomical. Was also wondering what mic device to use and i think you have steered me in the direction of the Creative Yeti series. So all in all this was a timely video for me. Thumbed and subscribed. @@drb141719 Hermes is the way to go and it’s pretty much plug and play with plenty of support online from myself and other Hermes lite users and groups , as for selecting a nice mic you really don’t have to go to crazy yeti is a decent choice but I prefer the PreSonos revelator, but you don’t have to break the bank for a decent USB microphone because of the Built in EQ and cfc tools provided in Thetis!

Incredible radio and incredible video... How is the TX and monitor delay? Because it uses a Virtual Audio Cable to pass the audio. I have this doubt

Hi.. I know this is a QRP radio. But one thing is one thing , other is other. So after that let me ask: is possible to use hermes lite 2 with Amp liker Acom 1000 ? For example.

You can use any Amplifier you like but with the Acom you will need a driver to get full output otherwise 5watts in from Hermes probably get you around 400 watts.

Sold that but the anan has more capacity but when it comes to price point and what you get with the Hermes it’s a fantastic radio and has way more than radios that cost way more, so if your on the fence I say buy one and you will love it. I am guessing you had SDR radios in the past correct?

@@MikeN2MDX Hi Mike, I have 2 HL's and an Anan 7000. Since I got the 7000 a year ago I have never used the IC 7300.

Nice video lots of usefull info. I have 2 of those encoders they look the same even came from the same seller (not yours) but only 1 is iwit (programmable). So be carefull what you buy. I think using midi is beter.

I don't know much yet about the Hermes Lite 2, but it may be better for me on mainly HF digital modes as a base station with an amp... or the default IC-7300. I have the funds now. I just gotta do some more homework. ;) Make sure you wear full PPE body armour when your goodies arrive!👌😆🍻
