Paris hasn't had the queuing system in Years. Unfortunately lots of inaccurate information for those looking to get a Hermes bag but I love the bag, Black & Gold for Hermes is my favorite.

I was personally offered it not too long ago. So be sure on all information. Applying online for an appointment is not too far off. You apply online as opposed to waiting outside. My friend got a birkin like this last month but I filmed this video before she told me the exact process. I don’t get my bags like this, I go to the store and ask for the exact bag I want. I’m sharing what I was offered, how I bought my bags and how my friends bought theres.

I also thought I’ll share my Hermes buying experience. Most of the videos on “ how to get a birkin” or Kelly will advise you to work your way up by hitting certain spend in the store. Fly to Paris etc. My story is totally different. Like you I don’t have the patience. In 2018 I decided that I will get offered a birkin. It became my goal for 2018. I basically convinced myself that It will happen. I literally walked in to the store and asked what are my chances, what you want me to do etc. I spoke to my sa and told him what kind of bag I would like. Of course I was looking for “ the hottest bag of the season” birkin 25. No crazy colors. Good hardware. He straight away said they never get those in this store ( it was my local Hermes in Dublin) but he took my details and I walked off thinking ... next time. A week later I get a call from the store. I was invited to place custom design - special order. I was shocked! Not too bad for a first Hermes bag tho :) (only ever bought sandals from them prior to this) took few months to arrive. Once I got my birkin I started asking for Kelly. About 2 weeks later I got a call that they have one in stock for me. Wasn’t exactly the one I asked for but I got offered beautiful Kelly 28, sellier in tan with gold hardware. That was my second h bag in my collection. Few months passed and I asked for mini Kelly. My sa placed and order for me and I am now waiting for the call. The point of this story is to let anyone who’s interested in purchasing one that it is so much easier to purchase birkin or Kelly in small boutiques in relatively small cities I believe. I have walked in to various Hermes in ldn, ny, Dubai etc asking for birkin and I would never get one offered in there simply because they do have plenty of loyal clients and no need for new ones. Anyway... I hope that this comment might help some of you looking to get one. Xx

Claire, I think the queueing in Paris won't work anymore (which is a good thing, I feel..). They purposefully implemented an appointment lottery to avoid the "camping" in front of their store. So everyone who tries to book an appointment gets a chance not just those able to organize extremely long waits.

There is still a queuing system at the Paris Sevres store, which some people mistake as the main store, so maybe that's where the mix-up happened. I went a few times in September. Lined up 45 minutes to an hour before opening. You'll get an appointment on the spot if you're one of the first 15-20 people in line; otherwise, you'll have to come back later in the day. Was offered two B30s and a C24, but unfortunately the colors (Etain and Chocolate) weren't what I wanted on the Bs and the size was wrong on the C. I think my SA appreciated that I stuck with what I wanted and wasn't willing to take whatever. Also, it made me a more genuine customer as opposed to a reseller (which I'm not anyway), which is one reason why some people aren't offered a bag. Happy Hunting!

Haven’t they removed the queuing system❓ because people in the front of queue would sell their positions. It’s a “lottery” system now. You apply online now for an appointment.

Lol I heard this and not surprised at all! My friend recently got one from this system and I have heard about the new lottery system. My friend applied online in the UK, got an appointment and had to rush to Paris. She actually got a bag too, it was a bright colour and not want she wanted but she took it. I should have shared that story in the video. I mean it was obvious people were going to sell their positions, once again making it hard for people who really want one to keep. It’s crazy isn’t it.

I was in PAris in April of this year and got an appointment in Hermes Fauburg I was offered a Birkin that I didnt like and walked away ....It was a blue azure with canvas surf boards inside ...limited edition but I didnt like it. I walked away ....and didnt look back HOWEVER I will be in Paris again this coming April and am going to try again. That Kelly is another bag I love.....

betsey Kimbrell I did the same. I think if I’m spending a lot of money then I should be in charge what I do or don’t want. However, it only happened once. Twice I got exactly what I asked. (Kelly & Birkin) So good luck and don’t be afraid to say no. What I find works well is when you only ask for one exact thing & give them color guidance. (Let’s say grey or blue) I also tell them the colors that I don’t like & what I already have .. I hope this is helpful to someone :)

Parfum de Marly perfumes are SO nice. The rose scent you recommended is rose and rhubarb (and probably soemthing else). For everyone who cannot get it in their country and wants to test perfumes before committing I got a sample of that rose scent delina on a site that is called I believe lucky scent. You pay some 15 USD including postage and get a few ml. Yes it's not cheap - but I've learned the hard way that I really need to smell a perfume on my skin and see how it lasts before buying it. I have too many perfumes I am only moderately happy with sitting on my shelf. Btw that company is kind of an "indie" perfume company they re outstanding and their scents really last on me (while so many others for some reason don't).

Omg! Exactly the bag I want or the Kelly Pochette, but I prefer the Mini. In Paris you have to register online and then they allocate you an appointment (however one not always get one). I was last week at Hermès on Bond Street and was able to place a wish which is in the system until 24th May. However, no Mini Kellys or Pochettes. The SA told me that it is a new system and they want to make it more fair, since you do not need a purchase history and they just go through the list. Although I am not completely sure about that I had a Chanel bag and my friend a SO Birkin. I really like your collection and happy for you that you got exactly what you wanted! x

Sometimes if its an Hermes store that is not in a big city like London, L.A., Paris, New York, Chicago, etc. They will offer a Birkin or Kelly becuase the stores in smaller cities are not nearly as busy.

Claire there is a new system in Paris. You don‘t have to queue in front of the boutique anymore. They changed their system because it didn‘t look good from the outside when so many people would queue in front of such an expensive luxury store. Now you have to sign up with your self phone (doesnt work with tablets and laptops) one day before and than you will get an SMS if you got an appointment or didn’t. :)

My friend said she got a bag like this which I should I said but I filmed this video ages ago before I knew. For me personally, this isn’t the way I get my bags so I don’t look into it too much. I do agree that it was so off putting. I would avoid the store with the giant crowds outside; it was stressful. I am def going to do this but we will have to wait for me to get a 25 haha. The bigger sizes are no longer as rare. Well, of course they are because all Hermes are rare. But the mini bags and smaller bags are more sort after and the wait list/demand for bigger bags are not as bad. It’s all about trends, right now small bags are the trend. The bigger sizes are too big for me but maybe one day when I have every single size and colour, I will get a huge one. Okay now I want a huge one 😆

So cute, your Hermes collection is beautiful but I disagree that you should have to build up a relationship, it’s the reason I don’t have one I can’t be arsed. If they have it in the back they shouldn’t say no because they are saving it for a known client. I don’t live in London and have kids I’m busy I can’t stalk the store etc so I’ll have to go without I’d do preloved which isn’t for me at this price point I’d always worry about authenticity

I totally understand I agree with you. The bottom line is that it’s all about relationships. I too didn’t have time to stalk the stores and found it a game I didn’t wish to play. This is why I never bought lots of smaller items. With that said I randomly fell into a relationship, it happened naturally when I wasn’t even trying to find someone. I met someone without stalking and without buying multiple items. The bags are not held in the back just for clients only, but it is based on clientele. Imagine if they were in the back and who ever came first got one? There would be crowds outside and ultimately just go to resellers. Literally only resellers would hound like this. They do it this way to avoid the resellers getting them and allowing everyone to have a chance. It is based in relationships but you don’t have to stalk and buy things because I didn’t. But I did meet someone I loved and we just got on so well. You could walk in tomorrow and this happens to you. I hope that made sense? I am no expert, this is just my experience x

Claire, i am going to Paris in Nov for a week (for a b-day) and i want to give it a try in 25 and mini size (petite myself) and as you said I do not want to compromise and take bigger. Also budget is never really unlimited and i am having hard time finding an price info online especially after 2019 price increase as they say (continental europe and UK prices are pretty close i heard). Do u have any info on 25 and if you could share your mini price (dm if u wish), that would be very helpful
