I thought the same about your flooring. Then I thought using green tiles may be tricky, matching colors. However using black gives you a neutral.

I know that this video was filmed weeks ago and you are probably in the middle of moving or have already been in England. I'm absolutely living for your return to this house. Peak nostalgic KZbin unlocked. And now with your wife and doggies how sweet!! 😭 I hope you're doing as well as possible too with everything you've been through lately ❤ When I bought my flat I hand sanded with just sandpaper all my wood floor because I was too skint to even get a wee handsander 🙈 with literal blood and sweat I got there in the end and they look great! You're definitely one of the people who got me into DIY ❤

Cushioned sheet vinyl might be a good option for your dining nook. It would be less than £100, it’s easy to lay and no trim required. Just laid it in my kitchen on top of old tile and am really impressed by how thick it is and how nice the pattern looks.

Such hard work, but you're inspiring me to get off my butt and do some fixes around our house. We rented it for 11.5 years and we've owned it for 3.5 years. We did some MAJOR exterior work when we first bought it that our landlord had refused to take care of (new roof, new windows, new garage door, new furnace and exterior paint). But then we were tapped out of funds and energy! I think both are slowly building back up, so I'm making a list of what to tackle, next. Watching your process is so helpful! I'm excited to see the transformation. 😊🙌🏻

Sanding floors is much harder than it looks. The edge sander I hired was also really difficult to work with. But the worst of all was the oscillating polisher thingy that we did last. It moves around like it has a mind of its own!! Looks like you did a good job.

Just remember that you can't sand the floor too many times. The boards have a certain thickness and everytime you sand them you are making them thinner and thinner. They do look pretty but I would urge you to find other options to maintaining the floors other than always sanding them.

I like the lighter floors no stain pls. I like the heart lights and the jackets. Why not take off the flooring the laminate and start over. Peel and stick does not work longterm. If you do them over in wood can always do a white checkerboard with paint and have natural wood squares as well. Saw it on a recent Homeworthy from London and I instantly thought you would like it. You can also just white chalk paint the other would brighten the floors. Great work Hermione sure Hayley is very proud of you :)

Rip up the floorboards, tile it and it will last, you said you didn't want to be doing half arsed jobs now you have more DIY experience/life experience. Tiling will last a long time, and its not as expensive when your spending half the budget on peel and stick... :P
