You're going up against games like the souls series with elden ring, horizon forbidden west and pokemon arceus just to name the three biggest releases of recent time which are all mainly single player. Just because the quantity dropped doesn't mean it's falling off. It just means the quality is higher and people are pooling over the ones that stand out on top unlike then where everyone has their own game they play that nobody in the neighborhood even knows.

Single player isn’t “dying.” It’s just being massively overshadowed by multiplayer. The last few games I’ve played that were any good have all been single player. The last few multiplayer games I bought were shit though. And everyone knows negative attention is seen a lot more than positive attention.

Multiplayer games are rarely really any different from each other. I mean one day there's a succesful battleroyale game and then next 2 years basically every big multiplayer game is a battleroyale game. Multiplayer games take no risks at all I feel, it's... Stale, not really boring, but not quite fun either. Singleplayer games has some of that problem too. Indie devs have made some awesome stuff, but rarely an AAA studio puts out anything groundbreaking. This is kinda out there, but that also might be why the horror game genre hasn't evolved anywhere since early Silent Hill games. Even that was made under special circumstances, you know the had a team with creative freedom for the projects untill they found out that hey people like this stuff, and started dipping in their toes and its all downhill from there. Other succesful horror games are also formed under unusual circumstances, such as FNAF or Cry Of Fear

Another great single player game is red dead redemption 2, its a game where you play as outlaws in the year 1899 and your one of the last outlaw gangs being hunt down. It’s made by rockstar (the people who made gta if you don’t know) and the controls are basically the same as gtaV but the story is so good and I feel that it should be more popular
