One thing I love about Grian’s videos is the effort to make proper subtitles. In a noisy house with children and pets it’s a godsend; but it made me think too of people that genuinely rely on them and yet have to somehow figure out what’s going on from auto generated ones, which are ok for the most part until there’s multiple voices, plenty of action or technical terminology etc. I’d love to see more Hermits get some proper subtitles going.

The shop looks fine to me. If I had to guess why you felt it was wrong though, I’d say maybe it’s cause 1) Compared to Gem and Bdub’s shop, yours mostly sticks to one colour while both of them have almost like two sections. There’s nothing wrong with that, it just makes your build fade more into the background while helping Gem and Bdub’s pop more. 2) Gem’s shop doesn’t have a super saturated orangey-red, so your shop and hers doesn’t blend together as well compared to Bdubs. I’d play around with incorporating prismarine, copper and moss blocks or maybe even birch, just to try and blend better into Gem’s shop. Preferably a blue block though, for maximum contrast. (Or maybe you could even add bamboo/bamboo blocks, to blend with both Gem and Bdubs!) 3) Gem’s chimney kind of blends in with your shop. (specifically thinking about the brown mushroom blocks on the left and the upper portion of the red sand shop.) It makes the shape of her chimney much less distinct. I think removing the brown mushroom blocks on the left would fix this problem. I do really like the mushroom infestation though, I think it’s absolutely brilliant! Again, the build is fine, these are all just nitpicks/suggestions.

With regards to the Red Sandstone shop: The walls are lacking texture because you mostly just used full blocks of Smooth Red Sandstone. Mixing in a stair here and there or some Chiseled Smooth Red Sandstone could also work wonders, and changing the Spruce doors for Birch could also help.

I'm loving this season so far! The mending book bit and the permit office bit are, in my opinion, some of the funniest jokes so far in Hermitcraft (though that's not to say there aren't other amazing moments from past seasons too-). I can't wait to watch this video, always a great day when Grian uploads :D

1) I think the idea of a government property auction for the glass permits would be hilarious 2) I was actually thinking to myself how the red sand/mushroom shop alleyway is one of my favorite builds you've made, so I'm glad you decided you like it! I think it really gives off Paper Mario energy in a way that makes me feel very nostalgic :)

Once you put it that way my appreciation of that alley went way up. On an unrelated note, NYC has exactly 2 alleys and Hollywood film crews have to reserve them because for some reason Hollywood is stuck perpetuating the myth that NYC is filled with alleys that may or may not be dark and full of criminals. (The absence of alleys is why the garbage is left on the sidewalk)

The Permit office amuses me greatly. I've been enjoying the permits as a whole as well. Seeing people trade them and make shops they've never done before. I like the collectives coming together.

Great build Grian. If you're still dissatisfied with it , I suggest adding something between the the sand stone and mud blocks, I find this helps bring dark and bright blocks together

i love the permit office, intentionally ridiculous bureaucracy is a zone of comedy not often explored, and the fact it's actually related to semi-important server stuff makes it ten times better! But I can totally understand if Grian wants to move on to a new thing as it's been the focus of the last 5 or so episodes.

Agreed, I only ever had this fun as a GM, it became a bit in my campaigns because one time I needed to get some time so I made my players go through customs. Now they already know that when they want to get to question a prisoner better bring some permits and papers.
