Welcome to Hermitcraft season 10 - Episode 6! I add a massive new railroad car to the zoo train with some fun and whimsical designs! I trade my red bricks Hermit Permit to Wels and my Light-gray wool Hermit Permit to Stress. I'm slowly working up from the bottom with the Shopping Permits. Also, we meet up with Pearl and Bdubs for some fun with friends!

Hey, you might wanna check with Tango / Etho before moving the water for the mailbox, because it relies on chunk loaders. And your mail car might be out of the chunks that are loaded. It won’t be a problem when you are home but if someone sends you something while you’re off line then it could despawn before it gets into your mail box. I’m not 100% sure if it will break but just from how I understand the mail system, there is a greater than 0% chance that it could. Edit: I’ve been told that Tango already came over on stream and it shouldn’t be a problem.

Hey, Scar. The horse trap. That only works if the fence is 1 block over ground. Not in ground. Buuut, if you want a more... "opened" horse rig. Slabs on the floor and slabs on the top of a 3 block high arch will stop the pathfind of the horse. But you can enter and get out wile mounted on the horse. Scar, If you want to create a fat dripping effect, you could add a water source above the bottom block, & the water will drip through the mangrove wood like dripping fat on the rotisserie. Also you could get with Cub, and if you can get a Wither shot skull (don't know if black or blue sounds better) you could set up a noteblock creating a sizzle sound using a clock with an appropriate delay. Also your sand monopoly may make you unbelievably wealthy this season, but may also drive you insane restocking it. Sufficed to say, some individuals are thinking of using sand as an alternate form of currency for the season.

Scar, someone else probably said this but you can put berry bushes underneath carpets to stop mob pathfinding. That's what Tango did for Decked Out 2 to zone the ravagers.

Scar, the fence needs to be on ground level, and the carpet then goes on top. The mobs will still register the fence as being 1.5 or 2 (I forget which) blocks high, but they'll actually be only 1 block high, allowing you to go in and out. The same thing can be done with trap doors, as the "up" configuration is allows mobs to pass one way, but not the other. If you haven't done so already, right clicking the top of a kelp plant should "snip" it and cause it to stop growing. Your use of nether quartz as the marbling on your rotisserie is incredibly clever! I look forward to seeing the rest of your builds this season!!!

Hey Scar! You totally can get a turtle in your aquarium car pretty easily. Just silk touch up a turtle egg or two and place them on sand in the aquarium, then the baby turtles will hatch in there and grow up. Easy peasy. I did this in one of my worlds where I made an aquarium that I wanted filled with turtles and tropical fish. Great builds as always, good Sir, and thank you for the fun videos!

Hey Scar. Here's how you contain your horse: Dig a 1 wide trench around where you want to keep him, I like to go down 10 blocks or so, but that may be overkill. Then place signs around the top of the trench and place carpets on the signs. The objective is to trick the NPC program into thinking it'll take fall damage if it goes over the carpet.

If you get some cats, then the creepers will run away, wolfs will scare the skeletons away, and if you put a turtle egg somewhere far from your train then the zombies will run to it, it'll make it easier to avoid them, :)

Scar will definitely be able to get a glass monopoly. for the ones who don’t know it yet, scar had to trade grass seeds up to golden apples before in the life series and actually got much better then golden apples! He had to trade multiple diamonds wich he got from the trading for a golden apple to get his task! That was an amazing episode, we love you scar! ❤

Scar you must accept that Kirkland syrup is not the best (it is in my Canadian blood 1:26 )for the carpet you put the fence above ground and the carpet on top so people can enter,but mobs cant

Don't take pictures of the mailbox. Get supplies for a second mailbox and leave the first one in place, so you have a reference to look back on in real-time in case you accidentally don't take the right picture from the right angle. Build a *second* mailbox, then redirect streams and test to see if it's working. If it's not, you can redirect back so you aren't permanently disconnected/broken. Once you know it's working, dismantle the first. Maybe you can even borrow the materials from the post office and return them from the dismantled one.

6:37 For containing animals (including cOW) you can make a 1 block high perimeter (can be any block) and make the floor inside the square be honey blocks (you can cover it with carpet if you want). This will keep them inside the perimeter because you can't jump on honey blocks, however when you ride cOW you will still be able to get out! You could also dig a one block deep hole with the ground being honey and it still works

If you want to keep the horse inside the carpets like you have them, don't use fence posts underneath, use sweet berry bushes. Most mobs don't like to path through berry bushes (with foxes being the exception, I think), and this includes when they have carpet on them.

For the carpet trick: Dont use fences, but rather stacked carpets at least 3 layers deep (and maybe 2 layers wide, since its a horse). The horse will think its a dangerous drop and wont walk out, but its actually safe.

You might want to be careful about just re-routing the item water streams - a lot of the nether redstone is to make sure there's automatic chunkloaders, which wouldn't work all the way at the mail car, and items could get lost / despawned if you get sent mail while you're not online!

Scar, great way to contain livestock that's TOTALLY underutilized - Make a fence out of trap doors. Just build it however large you want your enclosure and, voila! Livestock stay inside. Plus, you can easily jump in and out as well as lure animals in. Animals will jump over to go in, but not jump back out.

I don't know about the fence posts and the carpet in order to keep the horses in... But I do know that railroad track/ carpet combo works with quite a few mobs especially things like zombies and villagers... Because they won't walk over railroad tracks. That's the way I keep villagers from exiting the villages ... So it gives the impression that they're capable of freely moving around while controlling where they go.

Scar. You need to take the lowest rung off the ladder on BOTH sides of the train engine. Mobs will just circle around to the other side and climb up! The first train car is looking good, but it looks like it might be a bit too tall to fit under bridges and in tunnels. Remember all those movies where people are fighting on top of trains and have to duck to not get decapitated/thrown off by the low-hanging whatever? Yeah. Gotta be able to fit under stuff. (also, love that Etho turned the whole "mail scam" joke around by delivery of syrup as promised. lol)

If I recall correctly, it isn't necessarily fences that stop mobs from crossing over the carpet, it is berry bushes. They don't necessarily need their berries to have their mob repelling effect, but the bush has to be fully grown. _Something about pathing a.i. that Doc would be able to explain more technically,_ but that's a known method for protecting villager trade stations from zombies without a roof you need to crouch your player model under. Provided it hasn't been patched out, that is.

If you want aesthetically pleasing and functional horse parking, use fence gates in a 2x2 and put redstone dust to either side of the upper pair, then put tripwires in front and behind so the tripwire hooks are adjacent to the dust. If you do it correctly, a pilot on a horse will touch the tripwire which will open all 4 fence gates while an empty horse won't. Then build out the rest of the horse garage in the thematic style of your choice.

To prevent the patrols from spawning youll have to light the area up. They spawn in places where the block light is below 8, even during day. So spam those torches!

For Cow's "stable" horses can't walk over anything over 1 block tall so if you sink the ground one block in like a 4x4 or 3x3 and border it with carpet he won't walk up and out but you can easily get him in and out.

Scar, I highly suggest having a trade where you give diamonds for sand because of Doc's shenanigans. But of course, to make profit, it should be of the sort that trading diamonds for sand and then sand for diamonds makes you have profits and the customer have a deficit in diamonds. For example, it should be 1 diamond for 9 stacks of sand and 10 stacks of sand for 1 diamonds. That way they can’t infinitely trade back and forth. Sand permit would easily become a bank permit
