Since octopus and squid lay eggs you can put an egg in that building. So it is like the fishermen stole it from the monster, and it is trying to get it back.

19:15 Gem! You should put pieces of roof/wood floating on the surface in the water near the tentacles as well as pieces of "brick" (mushroom) that sunk. It would really emphasize the destruction and the multiples attacks on the house

Maybe you could add blue glass panes so it can feel like water is dripping, and may empty the water around 2 blocks radius somehow so it can look like it's coming out of water and add little more animated

Just for future reference, you won't place the fireworks if you put the fireworks in your offhand instead of your crossbow since the game prioritizes your main hand over your offhand.

An idea for why the house is being attacked could be that they are a pearl diver and had found a really giant clam shell that had a huge pearl like object hidden in it. They took it home and the researcher realized it isn't a pearl but an egg from the monster

I think some water dripping off the tentacles would help sell the scale and movement. Maybe the one grabbing the bits of the house has some water flinging back, and little bits of debris still mid-air falling from it.

The tentacle destroying the house is awesome! Also watching this made me realize how well brown mushroom blocks and packed mud go together. They're basically the same colour except one is smooth and the other is cracked!

Something I’m thankful for is how kind my family is. My brother’s wedding was yesterday, and seeing how kind both my family and my new sister in law’s family were to the caterers was so heartwarming. I feel like caterers are usually ignored at weddings, but several of us went up to them personally to thank them and tell them how good the food was, and they seemed to really appreciate it! So I’m grateful for the kindness of my family, not just to each other, but to strangers as well.

Hey Gem! If you wanna add a little variation to the smoke height you can place a haybale under the campfire to effectively double the smoke height- You probably already knew thay lol but just in case I wanted to point it out!

A few years ago I saw a tour of the LOTR world in minecraft if I remember correctly, and there's a ruined city they described. The build started divided by colored wool for districts, and then buildings were made in full color with fully detailed interiors before the next phase. Then the building could be recolored in greyscale blocks and damaged in different ways- a missing roof, crumbling doorframe, etc. The final effect for the district they had finished at the time was reallllllly cool- you'd never know it wasn't always a ruin.

Monster story = monster is attacking that one building because the building is home to a tourist based exploration company that pollutes the water and one of the their expeditions led to pillaging the skull's hidden treasure that the monster's relative used to guard

Absolutely love this ep. Maybe for more debris/dust/smoke you could put the campfire nearer the tentacle down on the ground level. I think it would add a time element to the crashing down. The lower fire closest to the tentacle is dust from debris that's completed its fall, and at the back, the fire is higher because it's still in the process of falling. As for a reason why that tentacle is attacking that building -- perhaps it was broadcasting something that disturbs the beast. That could be sound or radio, or even light.

You're supposed to hold the _fireworks_ in your offhand, not the crossbow... Your mainhand gets priority, which is why you kept accidently launching fireworks and hurting yourself.

Gem in your building that the tentacle is destroying. Could have scientist Gem have a baby kraken to study, and the kraken is trying to rescue? Could use the armor stand to make a baby like Joel did in his candle shop.

To add a bit of movement, you could always take a page out of Scar's book. When he had the Death Scar blow up the Lars Homestead, he added all those floating blocks, to make it look like everything was flying in a specific direction. You could do that with part of the destroyed house. Also, adding some armor stands of people fighting the monster (perhaps with javelins) would add more life to the place.

story for that hut: it's a fishermen's hut and the fishermen found an item that either woke the Kraken or the Kraken just wants and the fishermen got to it first.

for the lore, you could make the story that people tried to attack the monster, it could have hidden for a while then came out for revenge :) hope this was helpful!

This season's theme is so fun. I'm such a fan of incomprehensible horrors. If you want more movement with the tentacle, you could try falling (hovering) blocks off the side of the house or, perhaps, a water stream or two off the tentacle itself (like it's just emerged from the depths). These are art tips I use but I'm sure they'd translate just fine. 😊
