"Flying Colors" sounds to me like a great name for a shop.

A marketing tactic/fun reference could be him passing ppl (since the phrase is to "pass with flying colors") using the rockets to blast by and scare the crap outta them. Get some red white and blue/star and stripe pattern ones (maybe a new skin and go full fourth of July 'Murica mode lol) and do the old Captain America "On your left..." bit. After all ̶H̶a̶w̶k̶e̶y̶e̶ --i mean Hotguy is close enough to Falcon right? Buzz everyone's towers Top Gun-style like a fighter jet with the sonic boom lol You know just like building upon/riffing on/an homage to Scar's Hawkeye bit kinda thing. It really fits if you're gonna be "the fireworks guy" if you think about it. I mean that's often a common motif in fireworks shops for good reason. Independence day is all about fireworks displays and patriotic celebration in the U.S. Yeah the bit practically writes itself at this point. Just seems like the next logical innovation in the natural progression of things.

In your firework shop you should also sell a service of “firework show”. Hermits can hire you to put together a firework show for various special occasions like the grand opening of a shop, a community event or a big announcement. You can sell different levels based on how many rockets would be involved that Hermits can choose from. Marketing these can be cool too because you can set up a mini firework show they trigger at some place near their base.

2 ways to make it easier: 1. Absolutely cover the surface of the monument with boats and let entropy handle the rest. 2. Build a platform above the water with a soulsand powered spout to concentrate guardians on blocks and then boat/minecart them out of the concentrated mess. The main issue they had was trying to do it the "lazy" way instead of making what would effectively be a farm for boated guardians.

counterpoint: I've done it using the same method of putting rails on the monument, getting the guardian into a minecart, enclosing it, then transferring it to a boat. it's the normal method of capturing guardians in the servers I've played on. you can do it!

The shop needs a display segment! Me, and probably most the hermits, knew nothing about the types of fireworks. It'd be cool to give the hermits a sample of what does what. I also never realized how beautiful the rockets actually are, maybe you could make a firework show at some point in the season

Make a random Fireworks generator to generate all kinds of randomized fireworks, launch one from the roof every time one is made, and then stockpile the rest in a kiosk where people can buy random Fireworks for a diamond a piece. And if the storage gets too full, use them to make a fireworks crossbow game

since hermitcraft has the datapack to silence mobs with nametags you could probably silence the guardian laser by using it, you can also silence the noteblock by using a playerhead on top of it, the allays can still listen but since a player head doesnt have a sound assigned to it it will be silent

you should add a preview for every firework. hermits just toss a diamond in and they firework gets launched in a display where its visible really well. so they dont have to get the item in their inventory first and go outside

Oof, the farm is fun, but if Tango is going to be hearing those laser beams from his base, that would get obnoxious fast. Honestly, I've always hated how audible the Guardians' attack is. If they are anywhere within simulation distance of you, it sounds exactly as loud and clear as if you were standing right next to them.

Me with wild side eye (he doesn't normally show interest in Hermitcraft)..." No..." Hubby- "how are they made?" What would also be nice, but probably rather difficult, is a user input in the final shop for custom fireworks. Kinda like a custom ramen shop. You get the basic stew aka your firework and then choose your ingredients and toppings.

Cub! Great video as always. I want to throw out an idea. What if in addition to regular stocked fireworks in your shop, you also build and easy to use automatic crafting system within the shop, kind of like build a bear where the hermits can pay a little extra to build their own custom fireworks easily.

Yes! I was thinking the same thing. Hermits can then pick exactly what they want and pay extra for additional effects. And Cub doesn’t have to stock every type of rocket.

The idea of having "natural" guardian-powered squid farm with allays collecting stuff, without any boxes nor drying out the water, is so fun. I hope the allays are reliable enough to stay there, and won't fly away if chunks are loaded in a certain way (unloaded noteblocks, loaded allays) 😬

I think it would be cool if the customers order a particular firework rocket in the shop, and it's crafted right there for them. This would be more interesting than having a shop full of chests.

One interesting idea that came to mind, "Build-a-Blast Workshop", where customers come in and craft their own specific fireworks, paying based on the materials they use to make them 🤓

Hey cub, just a random thought that might be fun to add to the final design. You should have one room of just supplies, and then the room of making the fireworks. The hermits take supplies from barrels that are in the supplies room and sort them into barrels in the making room. When a button is pushed then the star is created and when they have what they want to put the star into the firework maker they choose either twinkle or trail or both they push the button and BOOM fireworks are made. You can ask them the amount of gunpowder they want added buy a book and a lectern - just a random though - sorry if this does not make sense, I just wanted to pit this out there - love the video though.

I think what you might want to do is build a firework shop that allows the customer to build his own rockets, kind of like a sandwich place, that way they can have whatever colors and flight duration that they want.

cub, you can make a single farm for green and lime dye, by making a cactus farm, and composting half the outputs into bonemeal, then crafting it into white dye, and smelting the other half of the cacti, giving you green dye. auto craft half of that green dye with the white for lime.

should sell specifically selected arrangements or bundles of fireworks (the firework industry would call these cakes) or maybe have a sort of firework vending machine where someone shows up selects what they want and the amount and then pays and the machine crafts the fireworks for them cause I feel just making and selling all varieties would get overwhelming not just for you but for the rest of the hermits shopping there either way this is really cool I wish you good fortune with your firework endeavors :)

I really hope you do a build-a-bear type shop where the customer can choose the ingredients along the way and watch the crafting happen in real time. Could even do a test explosion at the end to confirm they like it before mass producing it for them. Could be a fun idea

That fireworks crafter is amazing! One thing I wonder though: Do you really need to change the blocked spaces in the crafter when you want different fleight duration or amount of breaks? There should be a way to have the signal strength triggering the last crafter adjust when changing those options, subtracting one strength for every additional item you want to add.

Hey Cub, here’s an unsolicited suggestion (sorry 😅) - why don’t you assemble just the rockets here and move them to the shop in shopping district, and there, let the customers select what customisation (colour, fade, pattern, etc) they want, and then have it get assembled for them then and there using crafters! Initially it’ll be slow for the customers since it’ll take some time for a stack to get assembled, but you could monitor what are you most popular products and eventually pre-assemble just those and let the others keep getting assembled in real time

22:56 - I don't think you could ever get a minecart into a boat, but the reverse of that, yes. You could put boats into minecarts (not sure if this is still true)

The prototype will be dwarfed in comparison to the main product that does all 2.1 trillion 1 ball recipes in their own 😂 If Cub configured a new recipe of this super firework crafter every second of every day, he’d complete it in about 66560 years If this full machine were entirely crafters from build height to bedrock (a lower bound on its size) it would be 21 million full chunks. Our roughly a square of 4600 chunks in the X and Z directions. Give us the perimicrafters Cub

You totally need at least 1 more captured Guardian, it could tag the fleeing Squid before they escape the attack range. Also as I'm sure you are aware, removing/filling in the nearby river would help focus spawns... but I'm sure that's an eddy off of one of the main travel rivers.
