Like this up so mumbo can find it. Mumbo you need to have a trench beneath the water curtain so the water wants to flow down and not out. So you need to remove all the blocks flush to the curtain @ 14:43 , then dig down 1behind that prismarine block perimeter so the water can fall down into the trench rather than out and into your base. I know because I had to do the same exact thing for my base my base - imgur.com/a/ogI2G my perimeter trench - imgur.com/a/p0wlI @14:47 you actually break the slime beneath the stone block creating the trench that's why the left-most column of water doesn't update incorrectly, but it does for the one directly right to it; because the one to the right doesn't have the trench You may have some roughness that needs to be removed by placing blocks over the sources that form, but it should fix the problem.

The two sides where the water flowed into the base, when you, Mumbo, removed the glass blocks you created water source blocks all along the bottom of your flowing water wall. You need to removed the water source blocks. Trench is important yes, but those water source blocks need to go. If you put sand (or whatever) blocks behind your wall of smooth stone, then dug them back out, and THEN removed your smooth stone the water source would be removed, and the flowing water would flow back into the trench rather than forward into the base.

Jen Campbell that could also be the problem I didn’t see how he prepped the wall initially. I went to the bottom of the ocean dug the trenches and placed slabs to get rid of the bottom most source blocks. Then by hand placed sand on the slabs going around the perimeter. Then dropped sand from above to form the perimeter of my curtains. Then after I drained everything I went back and broke the sand hovering over the slab and gravity did the rest. I had a tiny amount of irregularities to fix after but I killed the sources after.

Bumbo! To fix your wall, make a two blocks deep gap under them. (Under the water). This way, instead of flowing into you base the water will flow downwards.

Hey Mumbo, I know how to fix the water problem. Break the block underneath the vertically flowing water, and it will stop it from flowing into your base. I don’t think I have explained it properly, but still, hope it helps. Like so Mumbo sees!

I'm pretty sure the easiest way to fix your water problem is to remove one block underneath each water stream, thus causing the streams to flow into that one block hole, and not flow everywhere. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Water source blocks don't propagate downward easily, and won't prevent the gap from keeping the water contained anyway. You can dump a waterfall into a pool and it won't overflow, with current water physics.

The reason the water is flowing is because it is hitting a block that is level with your base at the bottom. If the block on the outside is lower than the block of your base it wont flow inwards. Edit: Upvote so Mumbo will see

You have a tunnel from your house to your base mumbo. And to fix the water problem you need to make the water fall 1 more block so it doesn't overflow like remove the slime blocks sand and stone so the water impacts surface lower than the layer of your base

mumbo... have you ever heard of a hole. Like if you make a waterfall, but you don’t want the water to flow.. like spread when it hits the ground.. you make a hole for it to go down.. so picture the batcave.. you made a water fall to cover the entrance, but it was a straight fall and didnt go everywhere.. because you had the water go onto stone that is one block lower than the surface around it.. so the slime that makes a flat surface with your base, when you break the stone, the water flowing mechanics recognizes blocks below and a place to flow (; so just make it go down, whatever is affecting it.. I dunno, you’re the expert (: ... love your vids dude, just keep swimming

Mumbo! very important! The release buffer items lever is also blocking the hopper next to it. Which means only a maximum 2 of the 5 chests will actually flow through into the storage system.

To fix the water problem, make a 2 block tall wall, then destroy it.

Water fix: Extend glass pillars one block beneath edge of prismarine edge. Place blocks along the top of the prismarine edge where you do not want the water to flow. Place blocks the entire length on the side of the prismarine edge extending from glass pillar to glass pillar to remove source blocks. Remove blocks under the water stream. Remove blocks from on top of prismarine. Enjoy cup of tea.

There are blocks behind the blocks that are used to block off the water from flowing all over your base, so it causes the water to flow. If you remove those blocks that are behind the blocks, that should sort out your water problems.

The problem with the water is that the water is actually source blocks, use sponges it will be the easiest way to do it but leave the stone blocks that you first placed, and remove the one in the water.

To fix the water you just need to make sure that the water flows a block below the bottom of your base. Then the water can't flow in that direction. The reason it worked before was because it was already flowing into the ocean so a block update would destroy it. Think that made sense :P

Go to a river, get some clay, bake it into bricks, build a dog house. Gotta be brick blocks. Give them a bowl of water (cauldron), and a bowl of food (flower pot), and sit them inside the dog house. Put the dog house next to some of your AFK farms so they can have quality time with you while you AFK.

I cringed so hard when he was trying to stop the water from flowing xD You need to destroy the blocks below the water, hard to explain, but the water will flow down instead of to the side. 14:54 it only worked because the block to your left and below was broken, the water was flowing into that hole, not into your base. The water then flowed into your base on the other blocks because there was no hole.

@Mumbo Jumbo - to fix the waterfall problem you need several things - I have had this issue myself recently in the clearing of my own ocean base. First, remove all the blocks you don't want, don't worry about the overflow, unlimited water source blocks won't spawn in. Place in the new blocks you want in the corners. Then you need to fix your water overflow. To do this you firstly need to dig out a 1 block deep space where the water was originally falling down, make sure you have that around the whole area. Then you go to each end of the overflow (close to the middle of each waterfall) and place blocks against the water that is leaking out of the waterfall. Place them all the way towards the corner until you reach the point of where the water leaks higher than the blocks you've just placed. Build a tower using any block (however gravity blocks work best, cause you can use torches or whatever to get rid of them later) all the way up to the top, jump back down to the bottom and place in support blocks where the water is overflowing so when the new source blocks try to form, they can't go anywhere. Now you build more towers in the line towards the corner. Once you have all these you then need to do the same but from within the water, replacing all the source blocks with normal blocks. Once you've built all these you then need to remove all the new blocks you've placed. First do the outside ones that stopped the leak, then do the inside towers - the water won't create new source blocks if you have done it right. **If it helps, I will even make a video right now for you so you can see exactly what needs to be done.** kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5LRgo1-hMaGa8U

If you create a trench for the flowing water it shouldn't spill into your base. As for the pillars it should be the same concept, just be sure to kill off the top water source that spills into the base and have the trench ready for the water behind it

Water flows out when it can't flow down. The sides of your base where the water is flowing inward appear to be the ones where there isn't a trench outside of the wall you're trying to break. Pop out into the water, dig out the blocks directly outside the prismarine bricks at the edge of your square so the water curtain has somewhere to flow, and then you'll be able to break the stone bricks.

You need to create a pocket for the water to flow in to. So the blocks directly under the water need to go lower than your floor level for it to not spread onto it. Also it musn't be a source block, so your initial idea to put blocks and remove em 1 above your floor level was correct. Loved the episode m8

To avoid the water problem I think you can see if the edges are water source by click in the edge with a bucket inside the the edge. If the bucket gets filled then you just need to build a 1 high wall all around the edge, and then remove the sources with sponges.

One way to get rid of the extra water is by giving an “empty block” for the water to flow to. You can do that by blocking any extra water flow from the side and blocking the water flow into your base, then you destroy the blocks under the water to give it a place to flow to, and then destroying the blocks around your base kinda like what you did here 14:51

Simplest way to fix the water is a layer of sand around the perimeter and the torch trick to tear it down. You may even need to do the sand two layers deep to be certain of getting all those source blocks. Incidentally, I was in the process of lighting my pipe when you nearly got blown up by that creeper. I froze watching, and burned my fingers. You need a pet cat or two.

The reason why the water is broken is because the water behind the stone became sorce blocks, the only way to fix it is to replace the entire wall of water with blocks (from the top) and then destroy it (from the bottom)

How to fix the water: The source blocks will flow towards the nearest hole. If you make more of the area in the base flat and poke some holes in the outside, the source blocks will flow outwards (what you want) rather than inwards. Just remember that each block will flow towards the nearest hole once updated. You can get rid of the exra blocks/holes you made once it's fixed as long as you don't update the water blocks next to the base.
