I could be wrong on this but I think the right side hopper would just keep emptying the chest as items drop in on that side. I don't think it would split it unless the chest was full. To do that you would need to use a comparator to lock the hoppers until the chest fills up, and lock them again when it's empty. It would be easier to just put another item filter before the overflow/cactifier, so the overflow carrots get sorted out and sent up to the villager breeder.

@iskall85 What I do in bedrock is have a hopper feed a double chest, then have two hoppers feeding off the double chest going into separate directions. Then you can use a comparator or another mechanism to activate a sticky piston to either release the carrots or engage a sticky piston to go back and forth feeding two different dispensers. That’s how I split my eggs feeding out of a chicken coop I have. If the items load fast enough then I think it alternates which hopper it feeds so you don’t have to use any comparators or anything. One line of eggs goes to storage. The other line of eggs goes to my chicken cooker.

For the carrot splitter, couldn’t you just use a water stream over a hopper that is locked for 30 sec via an etho hopper clock and then unlock it for the other 30 sec? The split wouldn’t be a perfect 50/50 but you don’t need it to be.

ISKALL, the are SO MANY ways to split items! A hopper that feeds a hopper next to him while also having a hopper beneath him will split the items in both of them. 2 hoppers that pull from the same chest will split the items. a hopper minecart on top of 2 hoppers/minecarts will split them. water that flows diagonal against a corner will split them!! (also add a delay if possible on the shulkerbox replacing so you don't drop the items you're holding)

Iskall: to split your carrots just run powered rails over the hoppers instead of water with a hopper cart and as it travels back and forth it will split the items and you won't need to change the design :)

Iskall, a way to split Items into two hopper lines is to put 2 hopper on the bottom, 1 hopping minecart in the middle above and then just drop the items in the hopping minecart. Should work :) Hope it helped.

Iskall!!!! Send all the carrots go up past the breeder and the drop them down a hole back in to your storage system. The villagers will stop taking carrots when there inventories are full (think they have 5 slots) and they only use carrots when they breed. From what I seen in E77 you basically have half the system built already

Carrot solution!... Make the chest that feeds the shulker box loader into a double chest (you have room because its on the end of the row). Then have add a hopper under it so there are TWO. one goes into the shulker box loader, the other goes off to the breeder. A double chest with two hoppers under it will split the contents equally between the two hoppers (for the most part). This could be the easy solution to your problem without additional crazy construction.

To split the items: 1. Put an iron bar on the block between the left and right hopper. 2. Push one hopper minecart in from each side of the iron bar. 3. Remove the iron bar Every item that goes slightly left will be picked up by the left minecart, every item that goes slightly right will be picked up by the right minecart If an item goes exactly straight it will probably be sliiightly north-south-east-west-biased but that’s probably gonna be an insignificant fraction

If it hits a certain level, there could be a piston which opens up a water stream to the breeder and another which blocks the path to the storage system. Try sending all the carrots from the item sorter/item splitter to the breeder, but power the hopper that pulls them out of the water stream with a clock so it only collects items half the time. This would also give you more control over how the items are split.

Carrot problem solution? Install pistons connected to a button somewhere accessible, so the piston blocks a way above a hopper, and it goes the other way. The water stream is interrupted and will go the unblocked way. This way you can decide which one goes where....... You can also make this automatic with an overflow system? Suggestion: just send a shulker box of carrots up top. Then have the carrots cycle around the villagers and then be collected back into the shulker. When the shulker gets emptied, smash it and send up another.

Or keep it simple and take your hopper line that runs across place a hopper pulling out from the bottom that has an item filter for carrots and have that hopper locks when the breeder is either off or is filled to a cettain point. That would work easier for pulling carrots to your breeder and trader at the same time.

Since you have another carrot farm, I'd go with that so as not to waste it. But if you were gonna use the sorter, you could have replaced that dispenser with a hopper from the main(carrot) line into a double chest with two hoppers coming out underneath, going to their respective lines(i.e. the ETM and then to your breeder). The hoppers would have taken out the same amount.
