I calculated how much iskall's treasure is worth (NOT including the gold since it's easy for him to get it) and in total it is 4,475 diamonds. I calculated the diamond ore by multiplying by 2.4 which is the average amount of diamonds you get per ore with fortune 3, netherite was easy with the cinnabun shop, and the diamonds were also easy. So if iskall doesnt get 497 diamond blocks he would have lost diamonds. Probably more if you factor in the gold, but again for him its virtually worthless since his gold farm is so fast.

With the clues, considering how much is in each treasure chest (some having 8 netherite ingots which is insanely valuable), and given that some clues do basically give away the locations of some, one is under a tree, and one is by the dock or bridge from two of the clues, which narrows down the location of some treasures to, for the tree one, maybe like 10 blocks given that there are only a few trees, and some are multiple blocks blocks below the surface. With that in mind, that someone could narrow down the location of a box potentially worth over 360 diamonds (calculating the price of netherite, gold blocks, the 64 diamonds in that shulker, and the value of the shulker itself, you are giving a clue that narrows down the location of that box to around 10 blocks for only five diamonds. In reality, it would probably make more sense to make the price of a hint 32-64 diamonds, as to get a hint they should have to pay a lot, as it could narrow down the location of a box to only a few spaces, and the other hermits could have commenters that could help with the riddles even if they get rid of the hints later on. In addition to that, it is also because the prizes have high value. While the gold shovels don’t allow you to mine multiple blocks, they can always use the multiple shovels, and many boxes have a great return investment, so it wouldn’t necessarily be as if it isn’t worth it. I personally would go with 32 for the added reason that some boxes aren’t as good as others in the same way that some hints are way more obscure. However, I would choose that pricing mostly because there is the added fact that the boxes that are being hinted at could have already been found by other hermits. Anyways, thanks for reading my college thesis on Iskall's economic decisions regarding a game made over a decade ago. I love the content, have a nice day.

@@rattslayer well, yes, but also no. At most, people can dig 20 blocks with 1 spoon, and that is if they are lucky. If they are unlucky, they could get a 6 durability spoon and not even be able to dig deep enough even with the clue, meaning they would have to buy 2 spoons and 1 clue at the very least. Lets remember that Hermits play fully civil, they will pay for the clues they use and they will only dig as far as the spoons will allow them. I agree that its not gonna be the most profitable thing Iskall has, but everyone is assuming every hermit will dig straight down and find a treasure. If they have to dig down 3 blocks deep and the area of the clues are 3x3, that's 5 blocks they would have to mine to be certain of uncovering the treasure. But hermits dont know how deep the treasure is, so lets assume it's 7 blocks deep on average, with an average area of 5x5(which isnt a bad assumption). That means that they averagely would require to dig 17 blocks on average, if they dig optimally, to be guaranteed to find the treasure. Considering Iskall aimed to have the shovels be averagely 16 durability, that already means treasures are not guaranteed. Then add in the fact that a lot of hermits are not going to dig optimally, because they dont know how deep each treasure is and the vagueness of the area's is probably going to put the search area from 3x3 up to 9x9, the bigger the area, the more blocks they have to dig. So its really luck dependend.

A black cat sitting on some netherite, a red pesky bird on the redstone, turtles on the emeralds, and any other friendly mobs. I think it would look so lively and sitting with the fact it's a tree!

I calculated how much iskall's treasure is worth (NOT including the gold since it's easy for him to get it) and in total it is 4,475 diamonds. I calculated the diamond ore by multiplying by 2.4 which is the average amount of diamonds you get per ore with fortune 3, netherite was easy with the cinnabun shop, and the diamonds were also easy. So if iskall doesnt get 497 diamond blocks he would have lost diamonds. Probably more if you factor in the gold, but again for him its virtually worthless since his gold farm is so fast.
