The mic you got is really good, it’s “legendary” because so many people have used it, micheal Jackson used it to record the whole of his album “thriller”, try taking the cover of the front of the mic, it will make your voice sound more clear, try having the gain around halfway, the best way your going to make the sound of your mic to be the best way it can do is buy investing in a good audio interface and a microphone pre amp, I would recommend the universal audio Apollo twin, it’s an amazing audio interface and you can add a bunch of plug ins within the software that it comes with that emulate pre amps and eq’s that will make your voice sound so much better...

The Shure SM7b is just iconic. Nearly every radio station in the country uses these in their studios. They tend to be much quieter than other dynamic mics, but the warm tone is something other mics wish they had. And they’re not cheap either!
