The system may have run out of books on that second run. If I remember right, the more soul flames you punch out the better books are given at the end of the run. So you may want to check with Tango (Also, you might want to call up RenBob on behalf of the Resistance. He does love sticking it to the man and has prior beef with the H.E.P Agency)

Hey, Ren - sprinting vs sneaking doesn't actually affect Clank in Decked Out. The system's dependant on pufferfish which activate based on distance regardless of whether you're sneaking or not. It's better to sprint through and try to find all the hidden spots and secrets in the dungeon to make it out before the Sprits of the Dungeon Awake!

Sprinting does cost a lot of extra hunger, so do you want to cost a bunch of extra hunger to yourself, when you don't have any Beast Bites to satiate yourself while inside the dungeon? Or would you rather be walking at a normal pace most of the time, conserving your energy/hunger for when you are being chased down?

I've seen many comments talking about this to other hermits, but to get pass the lava pit just walk between each trapdoors don't jump. Also, shifting doesn't effect how much clank you gain because its from pufferfish. Unless Tango changed it but i'm not sure.

Nope that's right. Those are the two big hints along with figuring out the dungeon and following the compass. You can walk across the trapdoors in time with the opening and closing. Just shift on the edges at each pause. And shifting doesn't actually help with the clank. Faster is probably better in fact as logn as you don't go so fast that you run face-first into ravagers. Good luck Ren if you read this!

Yup shifting has zero effect on clank, speed, awareness of where the beasts are and stealth cards are key.

Fairly certain shifting to avoid clank would only be possible with skulk sensors, and that wont be out until summer 2021 pufferfish sense when you are near, no matter what you do

The biggest flaw I've seen in Decked Out play that determines the difference between somebody who consistently wins and consistently loses is whether they turn to look at the ravager while they run away. If you just keep running and don't look back, it won't be able to outrun you. Just a bit of strategy to consider.

The biggest flaw I've seen is people who think the shortest way is the only way. So many people died in the lava bridge when there is at least 2 routes that lead to the same location.

Shifting may not reduce clank but it still reduces the visual range of the ravagers. It also keeps them from running forward when they don't want to.

Building suggestion: In the nether, build the mining facility that obi wan and anakin (vader) fought on, with a lava river below. Perhaps with broken parts of the building in the lava. You could even add in an obi wan and anakin fighting using armor stands if you wanted =)

Clank is not caused by sprinting! It's caused by moving around through the dungeon, especially passing through doorways. It's better to go faster and more directly to your destination, than to go slow and keep changing direction. Also, with that iron trapdoor trap, just walk across when they are closed and stop when they are open.

Hey Ren, when you go on your decked out runs, you could start to strategize what cards you'll collect at the end of the run. So you can build a super buff deck of cards for your future runs. Tango did say in a live stream the card ranks stack, but only the first 5 slots will be accepted into play. So if you wanted to do a run where you focus on Beast Sense or Loot Finder lets say, your deck might look something like this. 2LF, 3LF, 3LF, 3BS, 3BS. So here is rank 8 Loot Finder and also rank 6 Beast Sense. Not only does ranking up your cards make your deck more powerful, but stacking them with more than one card will as well. You'll be sacrificing one cards attribute for another cards higher tier if that makes sense. and of course you can fill all 5 slots with 1 card type maxing the rank to 15 if they are all level 3's (which is a good idea if you are doing a run with a specific mission in mind) and that might look something like this if you did soul seeker for example. 3Ss, 3Ss, 3Ss, 3Ss, 3Ss. So when you run start to think what sort of Decks you want to build and submit for each run (Depending on the purpose of that run of course) I would recommend building a strong Soul Seeker deck first, if it were me. Because having more soul seeker cards will expose more soul flames for you to punch out, and thus get you better ranked cards at the end when you complete a run for you to build other decks of cards. Hey Ren, sneaking does not reduce clank, because its determined by pufferfish detectors. That means that sprinting is actually smart. And you should check the Treasure room behind the throne, there is a ton of Hermitcraft easter eggs like the button, 12 bamboo, free glass, scar licking diamonds and even PAMELA

Dang! Rendog is shredded! EDIT: Fun tip for the man himself, shifting only makes it more likely to generate clank in the dungeon. the best strategy I have seen from some other hermits is normal walking or sprinting until you are at a corner. then, peek around the corner to make sure it is clear.
