You should get some fisherman villagers that sell buckets of fish and use that as a source of buckets. I've been using that method to get buckets for my lava farm that I have for fuel for the auto-smelter.

Having an underground shopping district means that if a shop is too expensive the customer can just dig for a few minutes and come back with diamonds to pay. Maybe it’s worth someone creating a public mining area off to one corner of the cave.

Remember that you don't need as many torches in 1.18. Before 4-6 blocks between torches was fine, now you can have 10-12 blocks between two torches in a grid without having any mobs other than slimes spawn.

To be fair, you didn't need that many in 1.17 either. Not that it matters, because the hermits aren't going to leave it as torch spam forever, so the torches are temporary and will live a new life somewhere else in future. Plus Joe is making videos and streaming, so having things well lit is actually pretty important for the viewers. Plus torches are cheap, outside of having to make sticks.

@@saffral The Torch Spam has everything to do with KZbin compression. Basically, KZbin darkens everything and reduces the contrast ratio so you would not see very well without the spam.

Joe! torch spam is not needed in 1.18 1 torch every 30 blocks or so will stop spawns you need block lvl 0 light for spawns
