Hermitcraft 9 Episode 7: 20,000 GLASS BLOCK STORM!

Hermitcraft season 9 episode 7! We start out big with our Minecraft let's play ep 7 on the Hermitcraft 9 server with a massive starter treehouse base. The design of the survival base will be elven-themed. Once we complete the treehouse, I'll build my dream Minecraft build.
Today's episode starts out on the top of a massive pillar of diamonds from all the off-camera mining I've done as we sign up for the Hermitcraft Easter Egg Hunt. We go to all the Hermit's starter bases and hide eggs shaped to look like our skins. Also, we finish the massive villager trading hall Tango Grian and I have been building together. We build a mega hurricane storm cloud of the ship. I hope you like the design of the ship with all the cargo containers and the storm cloud made of over 20,000 glass blocks. I’m hopeful that they are all taking care of themselves. Have seen many content producers (hermitcrafters, but also wadzee and a few others) describe being burned our after producing so much content the past 2 years and being under extra scrutiny with more eyeballs on their feeds during the pandemic. Agreed. It seems like season 8 was a nightmare for all of them due to the different things they were attempting and the timetable they gave themselves for it. Seeing them just have fun with things and, more to the point, focus on having fun *together* without worrying about rushing into building this or completing that is wonderful.

Another aspect I really enjoy this season is that the whole market system has kind of fallen off a bit and in its place, the hermits have decided to just help each other out instead. Gives a very friendly and healthy community vibe. I wish the real world would take some notes lol.

I love the rust! As for the scaling issue that you pointed out, why not try using steps or slabs and less standard blocks to make the rust details more detailed for a smaller space? That might help keep the rust SMALL. Plus also when rust is corrosive enough, the rust warps the surface around it and cracks and breaks apart the metal. stairs would be perfect for that!

I think the rust could look good, but maybe it would make more sense if it's closer to the water, since that's what oxidizing it or something? The storm looks absolutely incredible by the way man! Love the effect where it's light from top and dark from bottom, accurate to real life storms as well!

For the diamond tower: Keep it. Only shave layers off, when you need the diamonds. While we're at it, maybe build something around it like a small shrine for the "holy 'self-growing' tower of wealth". With a message for other hermits along the lines of "whoever touches the tower, will be cursed with eternal misery". Would be kinda funny to have this giant open-air purse right beside the vault of mumbo, which supposedly noone will ever know, what riches it contains.

Wholesome easter egg jokes aside, that storm is glorious and so is the aging on the ship, really gives it character. Just a suggestion, given that you've added that hole in the ship, why not extend the hurricane funnel down a bit, using cobwebs to simulate wispy wind? As for lightning, glass panes would work well or if you guys play with storms, add a couple lightning rods to the ship. I believe they can go through webs if you replace some of the inner storm for more area for lightning to go through. Great content, hope all is well in your life and take whatever time you need. Agreed. I have 3 older sisters and a brother in law. The middle 2 are in college and the fourth is a nurse in Connecticut because my brother in law is in the Navy. He’s currently on a submarine and the navy wasn’t able to reveal where he is or when exactly he’ll be back.

I love the addition of the cargo containers, it just makes perfect sense, I just think that you need to add some colour variety in there, maybe do a red one using redstone blocks instead of emeralds, blue with lapis, etc.

Whilst container variety could look nice, I think the purpose of them being green is because of the raid farm/storm that's dropping emeralds on the ship. On the ship that inevitably is the cause of delivering those emeralds (hermits trading with the villagers). I really like the story element to it🙂

kinda feels strange to have all the storage containers being the same colour. I think the rust is a good addition though

I also agree! But I think the emerald Logo can stay the same. Just as all U-Haul and FedEx and Coca-Cola trucks don't all look the same, our Emerald Inc crates can vary slightly. That way it can keep the themes of the emeralds but not be quite as monotonous. The rust I definitely like though :>

The rust on the ship looks great. It makes the ship feel more real. I love the cloud, it looks amazing! I can’t wait to see Grian and Tango see it for the first time.

grian saw it once already i think, he saw that the villagers had dirt in front of them and flew out and saw the ship. tango might have already seen it too since the walls that were keeping water out of the redstone are gone, but they probably havent seen the stormcloud yet
