7:00 The fix to villager trading should be something that incentivizes _villages_ , not _trading halls_ , by increasing trade prices unless a villager is "happy". Things that can improve happiness might be: has at least 2 conversations with other villagers, gets enough exercise, sees flowers, talks with baby villagers, etc. There could also be profession specific things, like tool smiths get a boost from seeing iron golems, farmers get a boost from being around hay bales, and librarians get a boost from being around bookshelves. All this would make it a requirement, if you want reasonable prices, to make a village for your villagers. Also, curing shouldn't stack, once is enough, and mending should be priced as a "V" enchant not a "I".

I'm the guy that made the inventory update suggestion in your stream @ 1:51:08 To give a bit more details regarding the "open shulkerbox in inventory" suggestion: - If you use right click on a shulker in your inventory, it opens up the same GUI, as if you had opened a single chest. (To help people visualize: Chest inventory up top, replacing your player character and crafting GUI, your inventory in the middle and hotbar down below). - You should also get a hotkey to open the first shulker in your inventory, which also opens the same GUI as described above. This is purely a QoL feature, but it makes it feels much better to use. And as a gamedev you want to reduce the number of clicks/actions a player has to do to achieve something the player often does/wants to do. - The "pick block" inventory search should also look into shulker chests and pull stuff from there into your hotbar. Currently "pick block" looks in your hotbar first, than inventory. And after that it should look into the shulker chests in your inventory. This is effectively a very vanilla "refill" method for placing lots and lots of blocks. Especially if you use a diverse build palette and therefore dont have much room in your inventory! But it doesnt help with food and stuff like rockets. This is a very simple and very vanilla solution. And it should work everywhere and on every platform, because it uses the same mechanics and GUI as opening a chest. Obviously stuff like shulker preview (like they have with bundles already), sorting, ability to switch the whole hotbar with inventory rows, double chest size inventory & shulkers/"backpacks" and stuff like auto refill for items and vacuuming matching items into shulkers, or even reserving slots with ghost blocks/items, are all nice-to-have features helping the the inventory problem, but I wanted to keep it simple and effective with my baseline suggestion! Hope you have a great day and I enjoyed your stream quite a lot :D

I like this, especially just being able to open shulkers in inventory. Makes something like Etho's shulker system doubly great also

If you want to test out the basic idea for yourself, I found out the "Sophisticated Backpacks" Mod has Backpacks that you can open in you inventory or directly with a hotkey. It sadly does not have my extended "pick block" search, but it has a refill module, which should be close enough. It also has other fancy stuff, but you can test out my baseline suggestion and see if this is already an effective way to solve, or at least lessen, the inventory problem!

@OscarLT3212 ай бұрын
I think the main problem with it, is that people can't relate with it anymore. It's not familiar enough to compare to your own MC experience. Cosmetics matter. It's just everyone's limit of what is acceptable without ruining the MC relatability is different. Most find a trophy or post bag acceptable while a texture trying to replace water streams isn't. It's cosmetic yes, but it does pretend to change water streams into belts, which no vanilla player can relate with. Just giving my piece on why I think a lot of people dislike it

Two comments on the conversations. I knew that raid farm nerf was coming, it was super broken, but I'm glad they let Ian have his day in the sun with it. I think for inventory management and space adding a backpack that replaces your chest plate (especially with the hot swapping feature) that let you pick block items in its inventory would add a lot to the game itself. you could have to place it to access the inventory, and add risk to building without having elytra equipped but you could still easily hot swap it so it wouldn't impact the usefulness of elytra in building

I really think some of the conveyer belt backlash would be down to the execution. Like, IIRC the backboards were on a 2x grid with a custom programmer art texture. But imagine if they instead looked like a 2x2 of copper block textures? It would look like vanilla, which I imagine would have been a lot more palettable. I also think rotating gears would be an awesome use of this tech, but you don't do that by importing a create gear model, you'd recreate a vanilla block-built gear and rotate the model to animate it. Taking what already exists in vanilla and animating it, rather than adding things that don't already fit into vanilla, y'know?

I don’t mind the custom models much, but I think Decked Out gets more of a pass because it was a game within the game. It was already absurd. I imagine a lot of people might watch a Hermit build their base and want to feel like they could in theory make it in Vanilla, while watching Tango build a game within the game people just want the game to be as good as possible (and not many people imagine even in theory being able to make it)

Hearing Tango and his live audience talk about the lighting causes me physical pain. Lol Cameras and lighting are specialties of mine, having worked as a cinematographer and gaffer for film and TV in the past. So, calling a small LED panel a "spotlight" is just painful. But then people were talking about white balance without knowing what camera or LED panels Tango is using, which just hurt even more. FYI Tango Most computer monitors produce white light at around 6500K (which is considered very blue). I personally dislike how blue this is because even direct sunlight outside on a clear day is only 5600K. The only time outdoor light gets even more blue is when it's cloudy. However, using 6500K white light makes keying out a green screen easier. So, it's commonly used for that purpose. If you have the elgato LED panels (super common for streamers), then you can adjust the color temp of the panel. I suggest setting it to 6500K. When the two match then it will have less of an impact. However, it will still have an impact unless the LED panels are much brighter than the monitor. A thing to keep in mind is the inverse square law. Meaning that the intensity of light that a source provides is quadrupled by moving it closer to the subject by half the distance it was previously. This means your monitor will have much less impact if you can move it even a little further away or if you can move the LED panels even a little closer. However, the diffusion on the LED panels can also be affected by moving them closer (the light will seem less diffuse as it gets closer). Anyway, once the light sources and the monitor are color matched then you can set your camera to use 6500K for white balance. Of course, some cameras don't let you dial in the actual number. In those cases, just tell the camera to use "auto" and it should be ok. If that's not working, try a "cloudy" setting. If all of that fails, then you can also try adjusting the monitor and the LED panels to use 5600K and then change the camera to use "daylight". I know it's a lot, but I actually held back and truncated a ton of info. Heck, I didn't even get into 30% gray!
@HelenaOfDetroit2 ай бұрын
However, from just looking at the video, the problem isn't that you are "red". Here's how to fix it. 1) they're complaining about you being red because your skin tones have a bit too much magenta. Magenta is the opposite of green when it comes to light. The lack of green is because your software is keying out the green screen, so it's just removing as much green as it can from what the camera is picking up. 2) Either remove a bit less green in the keying process (which is not suggested) or 3) Add in a small amount of green after the keying has been done to bring your skin tones back and "cool" them down. Fun fact! To make green beer for St Patty's day they add blue dye to the beer. Blue + Yellow = Green (when it comes to pigments). But, pigments are different to light. To make green in light, we would mix red tones and blue tones. So, 5600K "white" light mixed with 2600K "white" light will have a green hue. This makes the light around 4400K, which is the same color temp that florescent bulbs produce. This is why they used green tones in the movie The Matrix whenever Neo was in the matrix because it started in a boring office building and felt oppressive.

That said, bedrock has some specific features/bugs that are nicer, such as trident killers and splash potion cauldrons. Java has some nice advantages too, like the nether roof and more advanced/consistent redstone. They're getting closer to each other slowly, but neither is wholely better or worse. And personally I think they're both quite good, despite issues.

29:13 - "Bedrock Redstone is cursed" I quite like it personally. No QC, and we got stuff like piston inverters and moveable dispensers. Nondeterministic update order (I think so they could parallelize update processing easier) which can be challenging but I kind of think that makes more sense. If two things happen on the same tick, there's not one of them that consistently happens before the other one. (Having a stable update order like on Java can be helpful but it leads to situations like "You must build this machine facing South") No sticky piston "block dropping" is inconvenient for flying machines too - I think it does make sense but it'd be nice if there were a way to get that behavior- two-way flying machines are difficult and buky on Bedrock as a result) Shulker breaking had been rather inconsistent on Bedrock (shulker would have a random velocity when broken - could pop up or go sideways, etc. - made shulker loader design a bit challenging) - fortunately that has been improved recently...

11:34 I think one thing you should have is a Jacob's Ladder made with copper rods, and you should use custom models to make them "electrify" (and maybe add the electricity between) in rising sequence - it would be 90% vanilla textures (they already do that when struck by lightning) so I think people could forgive you for that. You definitely need some sort of piston blob as an engine that extends pistons randomly, and attach it to a bank of reddtone lamps that light up as a sort of pressure indicator, and have it periodically start going more and more and more and the lights all light up and then a warning alarm starts going off and then use a creeper head and/or a wither skull head sound go off plus uncover a haybaled campfire (or several) as a sort of automated pressure relief as the lights turn off and the pistons slow back down.

@@c0niferal that kinda makes sense. It was purely a cosmetic change though, so I guess that's where my confusion lies? It doesn't matter much, the conveyor belts were a super neat idea but Tango always builds awesomely amazing things so it's all gonna turn out great regardless. I was just surprised to hear it was changed out due to the other hermits disagreeing with it than it just being silly community outrage.

@@Anrui_Ishithe closest he had to this in the last server was the door at a community game this is his base and it would have been a main component to his base

I wonder if the hate for the conveyors and custom models in general comes from a place of jealousy. As a bedrock player (due to having an Xbox) I am obscenely jealous of all the quality of life and visual mods that Java edition players have. However, I think that hating on Tango and the other hermits because we can’t participate in the same way is unnecessary. I love seeing all the cool things the hermits can do and I will hope for a future where I can do similar things😊

I was watching one of Scar's videos the other day and I noticed that the book with his permit requirements doesn't actually say he has to do any of those things...it just asks if he has, and he has to write yes or no. In the true spirit of red tape, Scar really only needs to answer the questions as truthfully as possible. I'm not sure if he should be told this, however, because after all that he's done for this permit, he might react rather poorly to the knowledge 😬😅

Tango jinxed it: LITERALLY the morning after he says he is scared to spill a drink on the precious mousemat, it happens to me.. (no damage it seems! pfew..)

I play Java for single and multi-player and Bedrock to play with my friend and her daughter on a realms world. There definitely is a place for both, but I love Java for shaders and optimization stuff.

Maybe decreasing your monitor brightness would help? Might be better for your eyes too, if you have 2 spotlights on your face and still have such a shine from your screens, they must be very bright or very very big xD
