@sambuma9 ай бұрын
@@catsandcrafts171 It's because he's self-employed and probably covering his child as well. The vast majority of people have their health insurance through their employer who not only gets better (group) rates but also usually covers a large portion of the cost. Anything the employee pays is also taken out before taxes are applied and in Joe's case, the costs would be deducted from taxes as well. Coverage options also include spouses/families, so a lot of married self-employed people are on their spouse's health plan. There's also Medicare and Medicaid to provide health care for retired and low income individuals respectively.

Coes Quest launched in Alpha 1.10 four months to the day before Etho’s first Let’s Play, and this video prompted me to go back and dig that video up only to realize that if I didn’t know it was Coestar, I’d think it was an early Etho or Bdubs vid in all its chill-ness. What a legend. Coestar is really the godfather of Let’s Plays that threaded the eye of the needle of being interesting, informative, and not too basic or condescending. My other favorite answers were joehills wanting Microsoft to pay his medical insurance and Cubfan literally having a spreadsheet of 78 changes he’d make to Minecraft - because of course Cub would. 😂

I love Skizz’s answer because it’s so random and thought out. He’s talked about it in videos past, and he and Impulse used to joke that Bill Gates needed to get to work on any features in Minecraft they wanted changed. Really though, the boat idea is so cool. A small change, but recently Etho said that he found out that there’s a whole sector of the Minecraft community that are really into boat racing in Minecraft. So there would be an audience that could likely enjoy the change.

There's a metal boat mod (i believe) for that. Modded MC is where it's at. Seriously. Mojang under Micro and Soft will never get to where the fan base needs to be. Micro and extremely Soft has a webpage dedicated to them, with the graveyards of all the businesses they purchased and killed. Not even EA is there. Also, MS has a vendetta against Java going back to the late 1900's. They got in deep shoite over it too, big time. TLDR, learn to create mods and be the change that MC needs. The game will be killed, it's inevitable.

She is one of the more OG minecraft youtubers and I always felt she was underrated by many. Guude wanting to add her to his server kind of gives some credit to her work.

I feel like automatic sand duping could be stone farms - grinder - gravel - grinder - sand. It would even make sense, as sand is just like really small stone and- well you get it.
@zwergomir97829 ай бұрын
That would make sense and still feel vanilla. I had a worse idea, what if deserts had sandstorms that deposited sand (or maybe even sand layers), not sure if that would be farmable tho...
@catsandcrafts1719 ай бұрын
Agree, and also being able to turn sandstone back into sand! Never made sense to me that you can smoosh sand into sandstone (not very realistic), but you can't smash sandstone down into sand (which is literally irl).
@Ehmtea9 ай бұрын
I love this! It could also function as a way to "reset" things like stone bricks to cobblestone or something 😍
@davidtauriainen91169 ай бұрын
I like the sandstorm idea. It could be farmable maybe with cauldrons (and a bucket of sand), or if the sand literally deposited on the ground, a contraption could be made with pulls away some ground with sticky pistons, then the sand falls onto collection tracks, breaking into items. Waiting the the desert version of a thunderstorm would stink though.
@agentraum69939 ай бұрын
Sand can be farmed by having a new block item called Plantbox. When crafted it will look like a block looking pot (similar to composter) made out of planks and can do many things. Primary uses are pots for tall flowers and acts as a cauldron for sand when the sandstorm occurs and forms a sandbox. Empty plantbox are used for farming sand while plantbox filled with dirt, grass and even mycelium for possible two block tall mushrooms (But they could take it up a notch and make it so that they can put semi aquatic plants by putting water in the plantbox) Just my add on idea on a suggestion

I will say, there are a lot of fans who give your character Guardian features because of more recent things - season 7, for example, having Impulse move those Guardians into your base, as well as the orange and teal color scheme of the floating base. You're also super collected and skilled when it comes to raiding monuments, fond of swimming over boating, always need depth strider and some sort of water feature in a base... You've kind of fish coded yourself, over the years :p But season 3 was a gorgeous base and a definite highlight (the two-headed Elder Guardian god was SUCH a fun bit of base lore). Thank you so much for this episode! Everyone's answers are super interesting and a great peek into their minds, plus you always have the most fun interactions with other Hermits - I'm glad you left these segments longer, more Hermit hangouts are always the best!

Every time people talk about regretting voting on phantoms I am reminded of the fact that of the options they were the least awful. That year it was three types of hostile mobs. The stairs and the inventory issues could be fixed in one go. Remove stairs slabs and full blocks from being separated. Add a tool something like the chisel from chisel and bits, that can remove 1/8 from any block. You could make slabs, stairs, and even vertical slabs and small bits like mob heads out of every single block in the game. You’d have more choices and less different stacks in your inventory

I'd love to see a Hermit vote on things that are opposite but neither is "better". Like who has the most infectious energy, and who has the most infectious calm. Who inspires you with how they build at scale, and who inspires you with detailing. Who inspires you with how the build buildings, and who inspires you with interiors. Who inspires you with terraining, and who inspires you with organics. Who inspires you to do more with video production, and who inspires you with their production simplicity. That kind of thing. And not just one choice; ranked 1, 2, 3. You could even just make one book, copy it a bunch, then mail it out. ... actually compiling all the results and running it through any of a number ranking systems would just be a ton of paperwork. I guess it depends on how much of a data nerd you are 😅

It's also really interesting to see who was inspired by other things or people, not Minecraft related.

This video was so much fun, man! I saved this one for a boring, rainy day at the office because the podcast-lite format pairs well with multitasking. I may be in the minority here, but I'd love more of this kind of thing -- in moderation, of course. I wasn't watching, but I knew from the periods of silence at the beginning of a clip that you were sneaking up on someone.

Lmao at Doc's sand-duping mandate. Also, Keralis is adorable. Great video!

This has been one of my favorite videos learning more about what inspires all the hermits. Thank you XB!

Now we need a way to get Mumbo to go to the deep dark for silence trim, a challenge, quest, blackmail or bribery will suffice.

Absolutely loved this episode. Thanks. You should still bring back the 3rd Degree, there were some great questions then and it would work great with the more hermit interaction theme of this season. Hope you had a lovely vacation.

I absolutely LOVE that impulse credits Paul Soares as an inspiration. I watched Paul religiously, and it was thanks to him that I discovered Monkeyfarm, who in turn introduced me into the world of hermits and crafting!

this is a delight. i love all the different answers to what people would change in the game. boat enchantments would be cool. health insurance would be absolutely spectacular.

Zeds idea of roller skates made me think of skis and making a way to use gravity and momentum to move down mountains. making ski resorts and games using snowy mountain trails. cause now nobody goes in the mountain unless they need a goat or a bit of snow or iron.

I am suddenly very antsy to get some kind of skates, skis, or rollers in Minecraft, it is such a good idea
