I'm pretty sure it's based on map design. Season 6's map was a giant island ripe for building, so going out to the water took you away from the center of everything for the most part. For Season 7, it's the opposite; building in the ocean actually brings you closer to the center.

Recap is how I found all but two of the Hermits, at the start of s6. I had been searching tutorials and landed on Mumbo's channel, two episodes into s6. Grian faceplanted in his treehouse, so I looked him up. I was searching for other Hermitcraft seasons and you guys came up...and now I'm hopelessly addicted to every hermit and it's all YOUR FAULT!
