That froglight permit is the top of the S-tier, and he can set whatever price he wants, since: - they're objectively the best light blocks (maybe second to shroomlights) - they can't be collected manually - suitable bastions are rare enough that I doubt anyone else will build a personal farm

@@CW11721 The permits were intended to create monopolies which will lead to funny situations: including overpricing, sand as the new "gold standard" or fiat currency, and wars. Robber barons. It's going to be the Gilded Age all over again. Grian is a genius even when he doesn't intend to be, Or, maybe he knows exactly what he's doing. Resource monopolies were introduced in the Life Series.

@@qubit0000 Yep, it seems like the real purpose of the permit system is to create opportunities for the Hermits to interact and collaborate with each other. Way better than a bunch of solo shop-building videos.

One nice thing about the permit system is that it ensures there will be a shop even for low-volume items most wouldn't think to monetize, so if you need some random item for a build you can theoretically find it without going chest raiding or wasting two hours making a micro farm.

20:48 i wish the potion effects effecting horses would still be a thing. Yes, speed pot effected when breeding a horse, and parents with buffed up speed, gave the speed pot buff to kid and the kid horse would have speed pot buff permanently and it stacked, you could find horse breedings where horses eventually get too fast and they cant breed cause they are spinning so fast. but only on bedrock, also effected on pigs, and eventually you would have absurdly fast horse. but i guess for beef, he would have used slowness pot to force extremely slow horse.
