This season's gonna be quite a bit longer than last one, and I know health issues (whether your own or watching others) can be ROUGH, and they can take a LOOOOONG time to get through for some, I'm still rather hopeful he'll join. Now, it could be a case similar to Wels' back in season 7, or one similar to Iskall's last season, where when he does join it is harder to get bearings in. And not to compare situations, but I personally was surprised with Scar's great return, so anything's possible. We're not given all the details, so it's hard to come to a conclusion, though. (I think the same thing Joe said on the stream back in Feb 19th still applies-- don't go speculating things based on when Hermitcraft starts, such as health issues. For now we're just in the waiting game... and I'm pretty sure it's not helpful to say that we don't think fill in the blank youtuber will be at their job again/any time soon.)

@@jasonreed7522 True. Both were great with their transitions into building and the end result of buildings, but puns are what I live for... (live being used loosely) It's also the reason why Zedaph, Joe, and Etho are my favorites... all have a distinct sense of humor that gets me laughing a lot. The "ya boy's got a bigger boulder" is also great, though. Two different rocks. Both of them rock (and Zedaph's is, quite literally, rolling as well).

@@taytaythehufflepuff8532 Etho is my favorite, but i discovered Hermitcraft through Mumbo's season 6 base peaking my curiosity which got me into grian and iskall. Season 7 expanded me into tango and X and now i watch most of them but not necessarily every video. They all have different kinds of good vibes, but for me its Etho's refusal to play Minecraft in a boring way that takes the cake. (I still love the Monstrosity of S7, just a floating pile of random blocks that suddenly comes together once you land in it. And the shared riptide base in Season 8 with Iskall had such an interesting vibe and potential.) Tango's pretty good about creative redstone like all of Decked Out, and his episode 2 is out and he shares some of his plans for Decked Out 2.

@@jasonreed7522 Yeah. I’ve been trying to keep up with as many hermits as possible. All of them are amazing. That’s a pretty good set of hermits you’re watching there. I would debate to say Zedaph fits that category of “not playing the game normally”-the cave of contraptions and mindset of most inefficient methods of automating from his beginning episodes already showing that.

(Most hermits are in this category, season 7 i was in college so i had way more freetime than i do now) Scar and Bdubs are definitely good ones for epic builds. Gem showed off how to force tall oak trees to make her base (which looks amazing) and then Scar makes an indescribably amazing custom tree.

Regarding Joe's S9 plans, he is going to do an electronic component garden (think of the ports he did at xBs base in S7) and eventually a giant pinball machine. Yes, I feel the best benefit of this channel is getting an idea of what the others are doing when you don't have the time (or desire) to watch them all. So when something interesting happens you can go watch the occasional one.

A really cool thing that the hermit recap should do is to make a time-lapse video of the first 48 hours of the map in a set block area . All the hermits are so quick to set up all their bases so it would incredibly interesting how it looks in a time lapse.

The case of crafting tables being replaced with obsidian is very much something an Etho fan is doing (Etho did that when he was on Mindcrack). I would guess either Tango, Impulse, and Iskall would be that person, because they were fans of Etho before doing KZbin themselves

It doesn't take long to end up digging into deepslate layers, so it’s still a starter material IMO. Awesome vid, Zloy and Pix!

Maybe, but its also slow to mine, especially in bulk. On the other hand a very standard start is to dig straight down to ideal diamond level and branch mine until you hit a cave, which is a great way to get blocks in bulk. (Still painful to mine deepslate early) And i have used it sparingly in early builds.

A couple things that amuse me, back of Gem's hair look like Keralis is peeking out. Joe's new look has me going "So do we call him Joe Hill Dirt, or Joe Dirt Hill?"

Guys I love for doing the recap, thank you! For someone that is working and has an NGO, this recaps are the best. I don'thave time to watch all the hermits that I follow, vut with this I feel like I am not left behind. Thank you! :)

I've made a point of trying to watch every hermit's episode 1 for season 9, but i'm definitely not gonna be able to keep up with that all season - continually very grateful for the service yall do to the community!
