Minecraft Server. Tango needs gravel and I need gunpowder. To make things interesting we decide to setup a poker game where play our game Statistics as our hand.

@@PNWMan No lol, just have a seperate pool of "Less" and "More" papers. Have a stack of each in a dropper which drops into the green shulker, and sort them out from the return chute back into said dropper. Would take exactly 2 (two) renamings

I was thinking, just let the players choose which outcome they want to bet on. If all players want to bet on the same outcome, they have to match bets but the round ends, players re-ante, and all antes and bets from the prior round become part of the pool for the next round.

Something I thought of quickly was each player has to list the highest place number in their stat. E.G. for the Shulker Boxes Opened, Etho had 2,071 so he would type “2” in the chat. Basically it would add the Flop, Turn, and River mechanic by giving everyone a piece of information about the table to base their betting on

@@malign3158 Something like that would be good, but going from the top can make it obvious from the first digit who wins (whether they have more digits than you would confound it a bit, but if it's something where you expect it to be the same then you get the most information right off the bat). And of course for single digits it kinda gives everything away at once. But some system like this would be really cool and definitely add more subtlety to the betting.

You can also add a dice to one to nine, which players can add to their stat number. So 0 would become 90 if luck is in your favor.

Etho you should look more into the crossbow. Without enchantments it's kinda meh but with good enchants not only is it practically a TechnoGun it can also go right through shields and do a bunch of other things. A bow is better for PvE but you should definitely explore the crossbow for PvP Anyway, keep up the good work

Etho: about the machine gun strategy: A: Include a stack of a rarely used junk item sol that you can fill your inventory and hotbar quickly. 1 less item in the chest is well worth not wasting time on inventory management. 2: You really need to use fireworks and improve the crossbows. It could be so effective 3. Practice makes perfect.

I was thinking, hopper+ dropper/dispenser (whichever works for this) + pressure plate means he could unload his Gatling gun just by jumping instead of futzing with his shulker inventory and losing his target.

You should do multiple streets of betting like Texas Hold 'em. So first stat with round of betting, second stat round of betting, third stat final round. Whoever wins best 2/3 stats wins the pot. That way you could get people bluffing on low stats with hope one of their higher stats shows up to save then in a later street. I love the stat poker idea, but I think this tweak to the game will make it even more amazing. Also thoughts on how this game could make money is they could have "chips" to play and bet with. 1 Diamond could buy a player a stack of chips (any stackable labeled item, like iron/gold nuggets). And then when they're done playing the player could buy the diamonds back for like 1 Diamond per 70 chips. The winner of the bets will get more diamonds than they walked in with and the house takes a little rake you can slowly make some return on the game.

Just an idea to make things more interesting add an option so that there is a redstone lamp that is either on or off for weather the stat should be high or low. That way no one can artificially inflate their stats by interacting with a ton of beacons or killing a village without it potentially hurting themselves. Edit: you could also not have this stat display initially so it is like the flop in poker where you get a second round of betting (I don't know all of the poker lingo).

To make it more fair with respect to playtime, you can take two cards and divide the first by the second (take 1 if denominator is 0). It also adds another stat that you have to guess for your opponent.

ETHO when you do enchanting, mending or any form of leveling. I'd suggest taking your armor off. When you have mending on EVEN if your armor is full the experience still goes into the armor. Taking the armor off makes almost all of the experience go into your hot bar. Leveling up much faster and more efficient. To mend your tools it will go so much faster if you do one at a time rather than having all your armor on and a tool in off hand.

I think you have talked about this idea previously and I am glad you finally made it. It truly is an awesome game! One thing I thought of after watching both sides of the game you had with Tango, it seems like the person who plays more (Minecraft) has a big advantage over someone who plays less. My suggestion is to add a randomized determinant for deciding whether the winning stat needs to be lower or higher than anyone else. That way the overall playtime has less of an effect on the game.
