HermitCraft S9#20: Decked Out - Phase 7: Rage Week

Phase 7 of Decked Out introduces the new difficulty "Deep Frost" which guarantees an artifact location down on the new Level 4. We spend a few runs having fun exploring it and also continue enjoying the card collecting aspect of the game.
This phase also brings out the rare Rage Etho. Unlucky mob AI combined with bad parkour skills are a deadly mix. More difficulty increases around the dungeon along with the new hardest level make this the deadliest phase for most of the Hermits.

With all the cuts in the runs where you spend ages waiting for stuff, it'd be neat to see some kind of run timer (or just have the transitions somehow indicate the length), just so that we have some sort of idea how long you're in there.

Using the map you can have a rough idea. I believe cards are played every 30 seconds so if the map shows two cards change during a cut you know it's been roughly 1 minute. Stumble cards are added back into the deck so the card counter can increase, as well as cards which are recycled back into the deck, so it's only an approximation but it gives you a good enough idea.

Considering the clank created when you try and fail RC and the hazard caused RC just doesn't seem worth it

The effect of Reckless Charge on the outcome of the runs is difficult to ascertain. As was shown with the double RC proc last phase giving many embers, it would seem that RC is effective if the majority of your time is spent in level 2. If more time is needed to be spent in level 3 and 4, I would think that RC would simply be a negative, especially if you are doing experimental runs for level 4. As for the ember gain, multiple RC successes does give a lot of embers so such could be useful for later phases where the shrieker locations are more understood. But again, its not so cut and dry and I would respect Etho's choice on the matter, since he's actually playing the game and editing all of the clips. Good luck Etho!

@@Wjanabdjd138 This is a bit unrelated but with the point of a phase system being to encourage competition-I'm gonna guess that the "lack of interest" is mostly just that having a few more weeks/phases that would either overlap with the holiday season or take a break during would just kill player enthusiasm. Just because no one wants to log on to Hermitcraft in their inbetween time during vacation and have to run their remaining DO2 runs for a chance at the leaderboard or for content, and I'm sure Tango doesn't want to do maintenance during Christmas season. Also because a lot of the runs are so long that hermits with lots of other projects going on don't want to spend forever doing them when they could just do a few for fun.
