I think it would make more sense if building or aging the blocks in ocean biomes would make them oxidize faster, salt is a natural accelerant. Rain mainly corrodes but doesn’t directly contribute to oxidization

Doc, think of the compass as a HUD readout of where you, the player, are facing in the world. When you are facing the compass POI (lodestone), the needle faces the top; when turning to the left, the needle moves proportionally to the right; when it's pointing behind you, turn around; etc. Because 😰😤🥴😣🫣

Those cuboid gardens look great! I've played with building cities in that style before, sort of an adaptation of the southwestern US desert canyon villages built by the Anasazi. It's a fun design space between organic and geometric that works well in Minecraft. Edited to add: I've never seen value in grind. I see value in the creative process. I get that there's work in grinding, so I value the time spent, but I think it's smarter to find shortcuts and just get to the creative part already.

Love how we can see the difference in hermits' approach to finding the compass when confused about where to drop it (controlled by the same compass drop off point): Doc start methodically searching for it with block by block scan across both axises while Scar flails about like a muppet and plays shuttleboard. Both equally valid though not equally effective approaches.

Personally I prefer it dark than the awkward and not very thematic glare of gamma override. Meant to be a game on the edge of horror after all

So does that mean its time for a docm/hermitcraft mastodon migration? It requires a bigger setup than other social media, but it functions pretty much like twitter. The biggest challenge is finding a host for the volume of users and posts that such a move would create, but it's completely open source so there's no worries about corporate takeover. Its worth considering!

Xisuma's video showed that aged copper will oxidize a second layer just as quick as spacing out each block. That makes it possible to have a copper farm with a small footprint. You should stick one in the waiting room for Decked Out. Get the Hermits to age the copper for you.

Doc, listen. Sir. So many thanks for brightness overlay for decked out -- I am blind as a mouse and have sensory issue and to see the image so clear and crisp -- just, thank you. That's really nice.

Using bought items on a server does not devalue a build. It is part of survival servers. Someone did the work to gather the wood, and someone else did the work to collect the payment for the wood, either way the work was done and it was paid for with a fair price that represents that work/cost. Ultimately when someone looks at a survival build they know that the materials there would have taken x amount of time and effort to get. They have an understanding of the difficulty and time it would take to make the build and that is what makes it especially impressive. Even if someone else assisted in gathering the materials.

1:19 "So much time that you ask yourself "what am I doing here?"" You may ask yourself, "What is that beautiful house?" You may ask yourself, "Where does that highway go to?" And you may ask yourself, "Am I right? Am I wrong?" And you may say to yourself, "My God, what have I done?" and then I remind myself, "well I'm grinding" Same as it ever was.

Doc got pretty lucky on his second attempt- If he had died, he would have lost his axe- because he somehow still had it in his inventory. Besides that there were some close calls in that run So GG!

Yeah, there’s a filter to pull items out, but I can’t remember if random items are sent into flames. That’s probably where Chopper went.

Mate, I'm currently hiking across the UK for a year with limited internet locations, and I still make sure to watch your videos. I often see your video upload earlier in the day, but make sure to find a wild camping spot where I have signal just to watch, can never get enough of your vibe and content!😂 You're a legend! (message from the tent😅)

You should definitely pay more attention when you *enter* the dungeon! Also when you think you found the location, look down and throw the compass, also also go read/listen to the sounds tutorial (just to the right after after leaving the main hall for the dungeon)! You activated a lot of shriekers aka clank, walking over them even multiple times.

Hey Doc! If you want the aging to go a little quicker, you could put in a sort of seed block that’s fully aged every few blocks to move it along! Love the video!

Not to sound judgy, but since Doc asked in the episode. "If duping sand devalues the build, then does buying resources from the shopping district devalue it too?". The answer is: If the "money" was gained by duping TNT, then yes, yes it does. It's still duping, and it potentially damages the server economy. Ultimately, of course, it's up to the players of the SMP to decide on those policies, not external observers.
