X definitely has the best timelapses on Hermitcraft that I have seen. Between the Replay Mod, all the variety in the music that he has (it's not just the same song over and over {looking at you, Scar 😉}), and X's general derpiness. X is KING of the timelapse arts 😎

For the ice path in the nether! 1) Simply have an ice block that is pushed up, when you are zipping along it will instantly stop the player, then remove a stair block below the glass pane on each side of the path and place a button, the button goes to a pulse lengthener and drops down the piston which is holding the ice block, allowing the player to boat past. 2) Alternatively, just replace 5 ice blocks with glass, that will slow the boat down to a crawl which gives the player the option of getting off. Side-note, take out the glass blocks and the iron trap doors altogether, this makes flying so much easier; then place stone buttons on the ice blocks to prevent spawning! This will also make getting out of the boat easier as you don't hit your head.

For the boat stop problem in the nether: Maybe you could put the block or item the player interacts with a couple blocks before the stop with a sign to tell you which stop is coming up. Then have redstone underneath to activate a sticky piston to push one of the ice blocks up to block the path and direct the player to their stop. Maybe you could attach that same signal to a gate on the side to open it while the block is pushed up and close it while the block is down? So a player could be going down the tunnel, see the sign for where they want to go long BEFORE they reach it and have the option to hit a button or something to block the path and open the gate. Idk how the redstone would work exactly cuz I'm no good with redstone but maybe it could work. and maybe you could hide at least most of the redstone underneath the tunnel. I'd put the sign some blocks before the button as well so the player can prepare to hit the tiny button while going super fast in their ice-boats.

X, for the tunnel you could have the fencegate + observer on the side and just push up the ice below to stop the boat. Just as simple and elegant as pushing the trapdoor down. Not much more to also add pistons pulling down the glass once you've hit the fencegate, giving an opening

What about trapped chests, X? I've used those in a minecart track intersection, and they're pretty easy to hit at speed. You could put it at ground level and avoid the need for a fence gate AND an observer together.

I just built a 32-furnace XP system on Bedrock - kind of based on some of the earlier designs from the challenge, that had the indicator lamp and didn't require a button (just auto-purged when the furnace was emptied). And kelp-based since zero-ticking isn't a thing on Bedrock and because XP yield for cactus is significantly worse - and with more storage (and thus longer cook time) to make up for it. And two-wide instead of one-wide, because I wanted it to look nice, and feed the fuel in from the side instead of the back so I could put a comparator on the back... So you know, bigger and worse-performing than this system in various ways. And there's a bug in Bedrock which causes furnaces to lose their stored XP - the thing is supposed to smelt enough to half-repair a diamond tool (and fully repair any other item), but due to the bug, most of the time it only gives me enough XP to repair about 5%-10%, or even nothing at all. So the whole thing feels like kind of a boondoggle at this point, a huge investment and not much payoff at this time. So that's kind of a drag. And I haven't crafted enough kelp blocks to fill the fuel lines yet, so some of the system winds up fuel-starved unless I go manually refilling those furnaces. But I'll tell you what: just once, I pulled smelted items out of one of the furnaces in the system, and got the amount of XP it was supposed to give (or close to it). It worked, it repaired my test shovel to a good 40%-50%. So in spite of everything that's gone wrong... I feel pretty good about that.

For the Nether hub tunnel - You should make a half height piston door with glass blocks that drop down when the observer is triggered. It would complement the design that is already there and also allow you to exit where you want. You could also swap out the ice for soul sand or wood at the same time to slow the boat down, or just move a block in front and to the rear of the boat when it is at the right location.

Hey X, loving the videos and occasional stream replay, keep up the great work! On my iceroads, I simply put a fencegate on the ice at the stops. When it's open, you go through just fine, and it is easy to close to stop the boat! No redstone required 😊

For icie boat road, pressure plate on ice followed by three redstone dust and a trap door in the middle, you can run pane glass up to door which should give you a two block gap to get the boat through. Put a pressure plate on both sides to make it work in both directions. Simple, easy, repeatable!

For the tunnel, you could make a station at the start of the tunnel and let people choose where they want to stop by flicking levers or pressing buttons. For example you flick a lever and it will make you stop at the spot of the tunnel that that lever is assigned to.

Xisuma, use a wooden trapdoor in place of an iron trapdoor with an observer monitoring it about 10 blocks away from a stop on the boat path. The player can hold right click while looking towards and moving full speed to activate the redstone, which can eject the player any number of ways.

a suggestion: for the nether tunnel, you should make like a little area in the beginning and end where you can choose where you want to get off. put a piston under the ice, and when the player chooses the area they want to get off, the piston at that specific location pushes up until the player has gotten to their specified location :)

For that nether ice path thingy. You could use a button and a few stickypistons to push the ice aside and put some other blocks in place. That will make you slow down and you can get out. And if you dont push the button you can just continue.

@xisumavoid Try using the trapdoor and sticky piston design, but this time power the packed ice directly under the trapdoor with a redstone torch! It's compact, easy to toggle, and doesn't require much change to the hallway layout! the open trapdoor will stop the boat, and will automatically close when moved back out of the way!

The pumpkin issue is a bug from 1.13 technical conversion when Pumpkin types were split into 3 separate items. The enchantment of regular pumpkins should have been moved to the carved pumpkin and never occurred.

For the ice boat road, just put the ice back and leave the opening like you had at 16:09 and change the colour of the glass. Do that only on the side with the exit for maybe 20 blocks (?) each way. This will signal people which side to hug if they want to stop or not. No redstone required, just user friendly design.

Simple answer is a wooden trap door on the bottom replacing one ice block. That way you open the trapdoor to stop or keep it closed to keep going.

And for the tunnle in the nether: make as many as there are exits Buttons at the beginning of the tunnle and then you have to Press the station where you wanna go! At your Exit there will be pushed out a Block in your way and you can get out.

in the nether-way-thing: use the fences, but put them all on the left side (or right if you want to), because with your thing, i'm guessing left and right, people have to be extremely precise going in a straight line when passing a gate, if you know what i mean. Edit: Or just a fence gate in the middle of the way (opened) so you go through when doing nothing, but while holding your left mouse click you hit it and immediately stop.

16:08 for the ice rail worked fine. That's all you need to slow you down to get off. If continuing on, stay to the right side. You don't need wood blocks in the middle as well - that would just be really annoying if you wanted to travel right to the far end. It's a simple but genius solution. I approve. Frankly, the 3 simple wood blocks among the ice were the easiest, most functional, and most aesthetically pleasing solution altogether. Redstone for redstone's sake isn't always the best solution, especially if it ends up looking like, well, ugly redstone, and that among such a beautifully streamlined nether tunnel.

For the boat thing you could of done levers at the start which control a certain piston, so basically at the start you activate the lever that you want and it will put a piston up on the ice causing the boat to stop at your destination

8:00 replace mossy cobblestone with iron bars or glass panes (dark green or lime glass panes would fit best color wise) because those have a smaller hitbox so less items in total land on the cactus blocks this is just a tip

You could put a pressure plate on the ice that extends a piston a couple blocks out that pushes the ice up to stop the player for a chance to decide weather the want to go to that stop or not and the piston retracts the ice moving it out of the way. Tried this on test server works great. You could even get a piston to extend the pane from the side

I Had A Thought About Your And Gate. The Water Stream Might Overload With The Hoppers From The Previous As They Will Get Fed More Than The Hopper Can Handle Above It So It Might Mean That You Would Have Overflow Even If The System Wasn't Complete It Might Not Matter And I Hope This Makes Sense And I Don't Sound Like A Broken Record Saying This. So To Summarise The Farm Produces Faster Than The Hoppers Can Hold So You Might Have Some Flowing Over Them At The End Triggering Your Tripwires And Causing The Farms To Stop While The Hoppers Drain The Farms Won't Run So The Furnaces Could Smelt All The Items In The Hopper And Still Require More Even Though The Gate Said They Were Full. Hope This Makes Sense Or I Am Entirely Wrong :P

Take red stone and put it under the floor and rug it up to a switch or button so when you press it there can be a piston to extend a ice block on the forth block next to the exit. If you can figure the timing out and rig a button so it auto resets

You can place a string on ice with an observer with the face at it and that can be connected to a sticky piston that can raise a block in front of you for 2 sec that can stop you if you want to exist the boat and after that time if you want to continue you can.

instead of the hopper clock in the bamboo/catcus farm simply use a comparator output from various hoppers with different intervals (say every 5th hopper fx) with a comparator pointing into the other comparator whilst being being powered with say for example a redstone block. Then let the excess items go into fx a cactus or lava.

I think the pumpkin thing is a bug. You used to be able to put the item called 'pumpkin' on your head, but now you can't anymore but maybe they forgot to change the enchanting ability so you enchant 'carved pumpkin' now.
