one thing to consider about the playing with roofs is the biome you are playing at. A steep roof is awesome for colder areas in order to prevent snow from accumulating on it. In a swamp/wet area, you would see flatter roofs in order to slow down the rain as it falls from the roof into the ground.

Love the shop and the idea of more shops for the dead. For the shop you've already built, I think the even, smooth stone brick floor is throwing you off; the rest of the building is "rickety" and "old" but the interior floor doesn't reflect that the same way the rest of the building does. Maybe the addition of some stairs and half slabs (stone brick and mossy stone brick/mossy cobble) will help break up the floor and give it more texture, visually and physically, and help bring it all together?

What would be neat is a system to prove that you're dead. For example, in an indent in the wall would be a bed and a shulker box. You would put all your stuff in the shulker box, sleep in the bed, then flick the lever on the outside to block you from the bed, and unblock the bed from the wall behind it. This would make it so that, when you died, you'd respawn from the bed inside the building. Once there, you can collect your things, shop, and then take the one way door (also known as an iron door with a button on only one side) to exit the building. However, this would be horrible until the 1.15 changes to setting your spawnpoint, as right now you'd only be able to shop at night.

The shop looks great X. Ofc you should find details for the upper level as well 😂. It’s always hard to imitate someone’s style whilst making your own but it does look nice. I notice bdubs opens the fence gates under the roof to try and blend the support beam and the roof.

For the Dead Shops, you could make the currency for each shop a different mob drop. So to pay for supplies, the Dead need to use what they get from Dead mobs.

X, it's true that Keralis and Bdubs have superpowers with the detailing aspect but I think your room was AMAZING!! You inspire me to make better looking projects all the time. You may not be as good of a detailer as the other IDEA guys but you aren't horrible either!!
