Hey everyone! Searge himself attempted to post a comment on this video, but it was caught by the spam block. Here is what he was going to post: "It may look like itzlipofutzli dot com doesn't exist anymore, but that's because the site only speaks http and not https." I love how each video has a unique style in the editing, most notable in transitions, with ‘The Decayed’ sprawling out in tiny digital roots, showing it’s artificial intelligence theme, that the people stuck in the digital world are alive, and the bars dissipating in this seems to look very much like the game glitching, perhaps a reference to the idea that an official Developer was creating something unseen in Minecraft?
@Lefty7788tinkatolliКүн бұрын
I remember this ARG. I took part in it. I remember at that point we were starved of new content and updates in Minecraft. 1.8 had released 7 months prior, and there had been no snapshots since then, and it had been 7 months of total radio silence regarding the next update. I followed and tried to solve this ARG all day, just hoping there would be SOME hint of what 1.9 would be. I had major exams in 2 weeks, but the prospect of some Minecraft teasers was enough to make me play hooky for the day and take part in this ARG. When the promised prize turned out to be some random Steam code, and no 1.9 spoilers whatsoever, I was pretty fucking pissed.
@sonicSnap23 сағат бұрын
he did say pretty early on it wasn't minecraft related to be fair

the prize couldn't be more disappointing lol, a steam key to a MOVIE? just go and pirate it
@NA-nz9lv15 сағат бұрын
I remember that, people were already pretty annoyed by that point because solutions didn't make a speck of sense and you always had to wait for new input from the creator. Add to that the measly final reward and you can see why this ARG was forgotten by most.
@Lefty7788tinkatolli13 сағат бұрын
@@NA-nz9lv How disappointing the final reward was is the very reason why this has stuck in my mind. Ironically, if it HAD been some 1.9 teaser, I likely would've forgotten it by now.

sarge was hinting at features for 1.9, which was the version they were developing at the time. as another comment said, the brown block is the early textured structure block, it's selector lines sometimes showing up. those white dots were most likely hiding end cities, the first image having some of their purple and yellow peek through the dots
@legatelaurie10 сағат бұрын
The first image also seems to have an enderman/endermite particle effect at the iron bars so that does make total sense

I was able to find something really interesting the word Itzlipofutzli is not a word at all but someones name. A Aztec Goddess. Who I can barely find nothing on other than a few images (because the ARG ruined her name) she is referred to as either the Obsidian Butterfly or the Obsidian Goddess (“OBSIDIAN”) I just wanted to point this out because the name sounded and is spelt very Aztec to me and Im just a huge historian. I hope this helps.

Hey! I’m happy I’m not the only one currently looking into mexica (nahua / aztec) deities!! I’ve looked into the name as well, however all I got was Huitzilopochtli, a solar deity. Hi was rewatching deep Dive today and when i watched the Wither vid there was one question i Had and that you didnt Cover which could alter everything for the wither because why do enderman seem to love the wither but hate the Ender dragon because when you spawn a wither every enderman sprints to it but doesnt hurt it and why is the wither killing enderman before every other mob and also i am not sure if this is true but ive also red somewhere that the wither and enderman are made out of the same material and maybe wither skeletons are dead Ender man because of the sizes which would line up with the idea that the ancient builders and enderman where together in the nether and somehow both died but i don’t know really how to connect those dots would be really great if you could maybe Cover this in a new Deep dive vid would enjoy it Pls like so that retrogaming sees the comment ❤
