CLARIFICATION: I apologize that I forgot to clarify this, but it was not Xisumavoid who denied GenerikB to rejoin Hermitcraft, but instead, it was a group decision. xBCrafted also stated on Reddit that the way it works, is that the whole group would vote on a decision for hermitcraft, but if even 1 person has concerns for the situation, then the discussion is over. Every hermit must give consent for a new member to join. Now, I do not know who exactly was the one/ones who brought up the concerns for GenerikB rejoining, but they probably had valid reasons for doing so. Please do not get the impression or blame Xisumavoid for these decisions, thank you.

Non of them played hermitcraft untill after mindcrack went under. Not to mention another reason genny left was to travel the world with his wife.

Let's not forget the whole fiasco where GenerikB did a stream claiming that he was back in Hermitcraft and raised a ton of money in donations that were supposed to go to charity by faking the names of other Hermits in the in game chat only to have people find out later on that it was all fake and he ripped a bunch of people off.

one last thing you forgot: (ik you made this before it happened, but still) TFC: One of the most legendary hermits. Xisuma said "he really had the hermit spirit in him". He sadly died of health problems in early season 9. However, not much know this, because he wasn't too involved with other people, but was VERY with the server itself. RIP TFC

One small thing to add regarding the process of joining the HC server - Xisuma has stated multiple times that he is not the sole decider on such things. Any applications are run by all of the Hermits, who make a joint decision on whether someone should be added or not. Now - I don't know whether it's a majority vote or if everyone needs to agree, but it would definitely play a part in some of these trying to rejoin!

As a huge Etho fan who's been watching him for almost 10 years I came to hermitcraft after he decided to leave mindcrack due to the legal stuff. I always knew about hermitcraft in my peripherals because of generikb, biffa, and xisuma, but only started watching when he joined. Super cool to learn about the history! My favorite parts of the Mindcrack minecraft server was when people did content together and pranks and stuff, but everyone had started to go solo or burn out after a week on a new world. I think joining hermitcraft was one of the best decisions content-wise for Etho. It's so strange to me that there's people out there who have no idea mindcrack existed and was super popular years ago, and hermitcraft is the first time they're hearing of the redstone-master-hopper-clock-inventor-and-troll-extraordinaire Etho lol. I only watch Hermitcraft since the start of s7 and only watched some episodes of older seasons (mostly s6) from current hermits. This was very interesting to watch. I heard of some of the former members, but that was often more like "In ye olden days of 2012..". So I was actually surprised that some only left after s6! Makes me think that it may not be so unlikely that other hermits leave... I now feel for the viewers of them who enjoyed Hermitcraft and were sad to see them leave. But ultimately, I also think that creators should do what makes them happy rather than drag out a thing they no longer want to do!

I actually stumbled upon on it at the very beginning of season 7. I had searched BdoubleO since I watch the crew (With KyrSp33dy) and he was in their minecraft Monday server. So I KZbin searched him and Found hermit craft even though Grian is the main Hermit I watch now. It's funny to see BdoubleO go from the very much R rated Crew to the PG style of Hermitcraft.

Leaving isn't that rare in hermitcraft, neither is rejoining, I actually remember in season 6 when Bdubs and Keralis joined and everyone was super excited, same with Wells in s7, and I was like "who?". It's hard to imagine the server without them but at some point they did leave.

I doubt he'll rejoin Hermitcraft anytime soon because he doesn't play Minecraft anymore and I remember Jevin saying that for a new member to join there has to be a unanimous vote; but what I can imagine easily is him joining the 3rd season of 3rd/Last life

I've been watching Hermitcraft from day 1. So many years makes me feel old but I have enjoyed ALL Hermits content and those that have left for any reason I still love and respect. yes I miss the ones not in Hermitcraft but I still follow those that still create content. Hermitcraft does take a lot of time and dedication but the community is one of the best out there. If you find a content creator you really enjoy, do what you can to support them! They do work hard.

I think Xisuma mentioned him on (I wanna say) first HHH stream. That's when I first heard of him, and also I have not checked out any of his content. but, X likes him. So, I think X would let someone who can make content for whole season. As ImpulseSv says he wants SKizzleman to join Hermitcraft, but he is not recommending him to team, as he dont have any dedicated or regular videos. But, I really want Pixleriff to join HC, I think he is really close to join, as his presence in TwitchRivels Hermitcraft Raiders event, and Clash of the creators event.

Pretty sure the former hermits are mostly mentioned as "offline" means they can comeback whenever because they are already invited. Not sure it applies to all former ones though.

@@abhishekropalkar I doubt pixel riffs would get invited because he does the hermitcraft recap and I think the hermits would prefer it to stay that way and not interfere with that. In the case of monkey even if X likes him every hermit must decide if someone can join it has to be a unanymous decision... You never know behind the scenes if maybe one person has an issue for some reason... Also usually the reason people don't just get an invite to HC isn't based on their personality or anything like that, it's because they don't want players who aren't dedicated to uploading content, or that will "burn out" easy... Which is why I think they haven't re invited most of the old Timers who wanted to come back because their track record isn't very good... They might think they want to rejoin, then when they do it becomes too much and they leave again... It just makes a mockery of the SMP, it's a professional career to these people, if you ran a business you wouldn't let a member of staff leave and come back multiple times if they can't handle the tasks they have.

Again, Pixlriffs already answered that he wasn't joining in Hermitcraft bcoz first of all, he wasn't invited. Second, he didn't want to join as he is in Hermitcraft Recap. Lastly, he stated that he better be rather a recap reporter than a hermit bcoz being a hermit requires you a lot of time and grinding, which he said he didn't like.

I watched a few Season 7 episodes of Hermitcraft, Specifically mumbo jumbo and Grian (My personal favorites). When Season 8 started, I kept much more up to date on the series, I’ve watched all episodes from Grian and Mumbo jumbo, as well as a few others from hermits like Impulse and Gem. I might properly watch Season 7 and even 6 at some point, (I belive Season 7 was 1.15-1.16, while 6 was 1.13-1.15)

I even saw KingDaddyDMac pop in on a Direwolf20 stream once a few months ago, checking out what modpack Dire was playing at the time. Slip is probably my favorite hermit in that list that I'd love to see rejoin, too. Also, I think it was Python that said he left partially because he didn't enjoy the roleplay aspect the hermits were doing in later seasons. (Not sure what he means by that - they've kind of been doing that since season 1-ish with the b-team and the agency).

Last time I watched Sl1pg9r he was doing Ark. I watched a lot of ark at the time also but got busy and somewhat lost interest and so stopped watching his channel (plus all the butt jokes got a bit redundant. Funny at first but was over used. Had he cut the usage in half it would still be funny). Thinking about it I think (but can't remember for sure) I went back to check a year or so later and he was playing a game I had no interest in at all. And so I just kept not watching his stuff.

it'll be nice to see etho join back into season 9, hopefully somewhat later in the season given the personal issues he has been tending with for the past 3-4 months. only recently starting back into youtube, and still stating in his first update back video that he does intend on being a part of hermitcraft season 9, even if he has missed the start of the season due to said personal issues he has had to deal with with family matters. he's a very strong minded person to mentally be able to deal with these issues in a productive and healthy manner.

The decision for whether certain hermits could join/rejoin or not is made by a group vote. So if even ONE person disagrees with the decision, or has concerns, then the discussion is over.

Okay guys, so I was a huge red3yz fan back in the day, watching all the way to his last vid. I remember in the time leading up to his departure watching either a video or live stream where he talked really frankly about pain and chronic illness. It was almost woody's gamer tag style chill discussion over game play (although it was recorded live). Does anyone else remember this? I want to find this piece of media because it is a memory that has been stuck in my head ever since I was a kid.

It's kinda ironic. Back in the day when i was following Mindcrack, i was watching as GenerikB first announced hermitcraft. At the time i didnt think much of it, felt like yet another regular SMP. Some time later Mindcrack imploded and look where Hermitcraft is now, oh boy was i proven wrong.

GenerikB was the first Minecrafter I ever followed, I watched him from his very early singleplayer days. When he announced Hermitcraft, I was dubious it would ever amount to much, considering there were big guys like Mindcrack around, and GenerikB always seemed better at coming up with ideas than seeing them through. I kept watching him and others until shortly after the fall of Mindcrack, when I quite quickly stopped watching Minecraft content entirely. I've called it the end of my Golden Age of Minecraft. I guess I was also a bit burnt out on it. Only in the past few years have I learned that Hermitcraft is well and alive and stronger than ever, and my interest in Minecraft has also revitalized. I've again started watching Minecraft content from creators like Grian and MumboJumbo, and it's great to see the many old familiar names who are still around like Bdubs, Etho, Doc, and many others, and that they're still creating new things in Minecraft.

Same! I remember it being announced and brushing it aside because I watched Mindcrack, then Mindcrack went and killed itself LOL. I moved over to Hermitcraft when Etho did cause he's who I've watched for ~10 years. It's really weird to think there's young people out there who have never heard of Mindcrack considering it was probably one of the forerunners for youtube minecraft smp series.

I remember KingDaddyDMac. I have still one of his world downloads, the first world ever I downloaded. I think Season 8 on hermitcraft will make sudden turns very many story lines already. The question I ask myself is this season the peak of Hermitcraft or will it rise even more in popularity?

Python, Pungence, and Biffa are the most interesting to me. Unfortunately I didn't watch Hermitcraft until season 5 and even then, I mainly just watched Bdub's videos (which cut off quite early in the season too), so I definitely remember Python and Biffa from that season. Pungence, I mainly seen him in Bdub's vlogs. After Generik's shenanigans before season 8, I don't see him ever rejoining.
