It's not a springbok - it's a Thomson's Gazelle, which means the footage with the gazelle COULD NOT have happened in Kruger NP which is well outside of the Thomson's Gazelle's range. Nothing but another cut and paste video. Even the still pic for the video shows an impala and a LEOPARD, not a cheetah.

This is a Gazelle. Not a Rooibok (Impala). The Springbok is similar in appearance to that of the Gazelle. Now spot the problem with this video. Look carefully. These are two different scenes. In the beginning of the video, the Cheetah chases a Gazelle. Then in the 2nd scene, a close up shot is a view of a Rooibok (Impala). Look at the colour image of the Gazelle versus the Rooibok. The Gazelle has light brown on the top side, black stripe and white on the under belly. Now look carefully at the end of the scene. This is a Rooibok and is mostly brown in colour. Slight bit of white at under belly. And there is no black stripe. Look carefully and spot the difference. Also note another difference. The Gazelle being chased has small horns. That is a female Gazelle as the male Gazelle has large horns. In the 2nd scene of this video, there are no horns as this is a young Rooibok

Hate to break to everyone, but the animal they show hobbling up at the end is not the same animal the cheetah attacked. It is highly probable that the mauled and chewed impala showed in the take-down died. You can see it was in its death throes when the baboon went back to check on it.

It's nice to see many so different nationalities giving there opinions on this U-Tube video appreciating amazing true animal survival tale in the most unexpected and extraordinary way. Nature never ceases to amaze us in the most unexpected ways by acts of amazing bravery and survival like this story of Baboon protecting the Impala from the Ceetah and then watching over it like it was one of there own until it gets it strength back and goes back to its own kind. If only the human race could adopt this usual unexspected act to protect someone of a different race, nationality, religion etc it would help make the whole world a much better place to live in .

What a nice Bond between those two animals that chimpanzee was very brave and had a lot of balls to go up against the cheetah he was vicious then he goes back to see if the Impala is all right. Unbelievable we as humans should look at animals in a different way after seeing this video I know I will. People don't realize how intelligent animals really are. I had a cat that knew how to open up a door and let himself in. He would get up on the windowsill Push the door knob and pull the door with his paws to open it and go in. Can't you see that the cheetah was really skinny and needed that meal because now it probably died of starvation and also i don't think it counts because the baboons didn't really save it because it could barely walk so it's going to die anyway so not only did the baboons take away a meal from the cheetah but also made the impala suffer because it'll never heal and it'll just get hunted again so
