I mentioned this in an earlier comment but did not want to spoil it, so I can talk now. Stain is by far one of the greatest villains of the series. He's a villain with a goal and morals. The world sees heroes, but only he sees true heroes. To be a hero is not to be popular, flashy, to get wealthy or anything; its to do the right thing for the right thing. Stain has my respect for wanting a better world and doing something to push it. His motives are villainous, but what he speaks is the truth. I think that goes into real life as well. You can do good in life, if not for yourself, for others. You dont need anything in return. You can do good, just to be good. ^^

Honestly stain gets more than he deserves. The only reason we like him so much is becuase he’s a good talker and he was the first one to pose any kind of question to the world of my hero. His question didn’t have to be good just the fact he was first makes him memorable to us. He’s actually just 100% stupid and wrong if you bother thinking. Firstly his goal is really dumb actually. Yes many of the hero’s in my hero don’t fit our worlds definition of hero because they do it as a profession to make a living but so the hell what? The meaning of words changes with time not accepting that doesn’t make you cool or right it just makes you stubborn and stuck in the past. Despite technology only being slightly better my hero takes place in a world like ours but around 100 years in the future of course the meaning of hero changed especially when it became a real thing and not a fictional concept. The fact that stain can’t accept that makes him no better then the idiots of our time that say they wish they lived in the Middle Ages because it would be so cool to be a knight or noble attending fancy balls or some nonsense. As for the rest of his argument he goes on and on about how so called false hero’s hurt society but does he ever actually say how? No he doesn’t and that’s because theirs no examples. Sure some only do the job for money or to be famous but they still stop criminals and save people lives why does it matter why they do it? It’s still better to have them then to let people die right? The only possible case he could use would be endevour and while endevour could (and probably should) totally go to jail for what he’s done he still didn’t hurt society or the general public in any way. His issues are entirely a private family matter so even he doesn’t really support stain argument. Lastly his goals and ideologies gets a lot less impressive sounding when you realize he came to the conclusion false hero’s were bad when a vigilante broke his nose to stop him from murdering two teenagers (one of which he considered a villain) on another villains orders. That’s actually what happened and he was basically then like “you won’t let me murder these teenagers I see the real problem isn’t just villains it’s the false hero’s who call themselves that but don’t actually do anything (aka murder people for petty reasons) all in all stain is not right in any sense morally or ideologically and is only so respected becuase he’s a good talker, the first to actually raise a world question in the series, and were thinking of hero with our worlds definition which is 100 years behind theirs.

Stain makes some valid points about the flaws in hero society, but he is still a murderous lunatic with absurdly high standards. Take Iida's brother, who he targeted as a fake hero despite the man being such a great person from what we see. Uraraka would also be on Stain's hit list since she is mainly in the hero business to make money and support her poor parents, but she is still a good person who does want to help others.

Your arguments are fine, but this “100 year” argument is literally non-existent since it’s completely hypothetical and holds no canonical value. Even All Might follows Stain’s way of thinking in Episode 3 of Season 1.

kamron spencer He states that False heroes are complacent and have a lack of determination to go out and save people on their own merit. His actions even cause fruition when he lowers the crime rate of every city he’s in because heroes are now actively searching out crime. That’s his way of thinking. It’s more a radical since he will “Paint the streets with the blood of hypocrites to create a just society”. He wants to sacrifice the “weaker” heroes in order for stronger heroes to rise.

Well, this was quick, and, that is awesome, yeah ALL the hype! So, few notes. First, Deku didn't send the message to Todoroki, he sent it to all of his classmates. Or at least all the ones he has on his contacts. Second, Stain's quirk's time limits play into the Japanese idea of a kind of 'blood horoscope', where what blood type you are says something about your general personality. (It's also a reason manga/anime/Japanese games tend to include a character's blood type in their bio, as a kind of shorthand for general personality type.) With the ones he has the harder time freezing being the more 'heroic' personality typings, and the ones he freezes the longest being those more prone to being the types of people he feels should not be called heroes. Third, all the YES! on Todoroki here, and just how this shows how damn amazing the show is and the real heart it has. Deku helped Todoroki move past his pain, to make him realize what it is he really wanted, remind him what being a hero is about, and now Todoroki is paying it forward to Iida. Fourth.... MOAR!!!!!!!

In a way this episode shows some fundamental differences between Todoroki and Midoriya. Remember All Might said these two share a similar vibe and now both heroes will take their own paths. But Todoroki’s way of saving is more personal which has to do with how his hero goal is to save his mom. Unlike Deku Todoroki too has a dark side. Hence he understands that stuff better and relates to Iida more than Deku does. When Iida says you don’t have to save me, Midoriya says it is a heroes job to meddle and save while when Iida says the same thing to Todoroki he tells Iida to stand up and fight showing he is more attune with the feeling of doing something wrong, and also his way of heroing is being there to help them stand up for themselves. So you see sometimes that Todoroki’s dark feelings of anger does help him relate and understand some people better than Midoriya even though both are altruistic to a fault

I honestly expect that once we get used to seeing Endeavor in a better light because he's made so much improvement (I don't consider him "redeemed" yet, just on the path of redemption) we'll be hit with another level of how shitty and abusive he was in the past.

Stain is awful but he's by far my favorite villain, he makes a lot of good points about hero society. If your interested there's a side story called 'My Hero Academia Vigilantes'. It takes place four years before the main story and it actually kind of goes over hero laws, its only in manga form right now but its pretty good. One thing you learn is that a hero doesn't technically have to help if the police haven't made a request for assistance so even if there's a disaster and a child's dog is in danger because they weren't able to get to him, the hero doesn't have to go save it. Also by the time the request comes in there's already a reporter on scene ready to catch the heroes being heroic on camera, the only consequence to just going in before a request is made is pretty much just extra paperwork. (Slight spoiler) All Might is a hero that just saves people no matter what so he ends up being buried in paperwork, thankfully his detective friend helps him out.

The way deku moves by bouncing off the walls like that, if he put that hood up he'd kinda look like a green nuclear charged bunny rabbit. Edit: Also I think the scariest part of stain is not his appearance or his methods, it's the fact that a lot of what he says about Iida and the hero society as a whole has merit. There are a lot of heroes who are only in it for selfish reasons. The most obvious case is Endeavor. There's also cases like Mt. Lady and that pro Yaoyorozu interned with as less extreme cases. I guess a lot of the time, the scariest villains are the ones who are doing the wrong thing for the right reason. That even with the best of intentions, it's so easy to become a monster.
