Great tutorial and interesting take on tanned Caucasian flesh. Also happy that you aren't using 98 different colors, and are sticking with a strict palette too

Hey Man! I just wanted to say thank you, i've just finished painting the whole core set, and you made it a lot easier for me. I love your way of painting. Not overdoing it (i mean the scults suck a little) but still getting great result! Hat's off to you sir! If I had anything to say it would be that i'm not a fan of using shade paints for glazing (like in youir skin tone formula). It works well on smoothing the transitions, but even if you put the right amount, it will leave a shinny effetc once dried up. Which to me doesn't add up with skin tone.. or maybe just in Venice beach ;). I would recommend using same color but normal paint diluted. That's my POV anyway :) Anyway thank for your great content and keep it rollin'!

Yeah, while not my first hero choice this has me excited for the upcoming heroes. It's going to be super snazzy, I can tell.

after the drybrush on the sword i would have added a bit of nuln oil gloss .... because it feels like its a sheet of stone that its tined to grey metallic ....other than that the mini looks great , fantastic
@notyourmothershobbies Жыл бұрын
That would probably be because I didn't add any metallic to the sword, wanting a simplified non metallic look or a "rough iron" haha. Guess I got a little more "rough stone" instead heh ;p

Love your stuff so far. Great job. QQ, What brushes are you using? I see all these perfectly pointed brushes, and I for the life of me cannot get brushes with that perfect of a tip. Do I need to move away from synthetic brushes to actual hair?
@notyourmothershobbies7 ай бұрын
Thanks haha! My brushes are nothing special, just a citadel synthetic small layer brush and an army painter insane detail brush with half the hairs left lol

@@notyourmothershobbies LOL good to know... I gotta stop ordering brushes off Amazon then apparently. Guess it's off to my FLGS to snag a couple Army and GW brushes it seems.

Looks awesome! How about the wizard? Possibly the worst hero face sculpt. Were you one of the fortunate few that got the Knights? Mine are still in the wip stage.

Awe maaaaaan hahaha I like the wizard ;p though he is a little boring. I DID manage to snag one yeah! Who knew they'd be so dang rare! We'll definitely be painting them before frozen horror/mage of the mirror.

When you were applying the Agrax Earthshade to the skin, you said you thinned it with a medium? What medium do you mean? A matt medium? some contrast medium?
@notyourmothershobbies8 ай бұрын
Good question! Basically a medium is anything that you can thin down the paint with, even water is a medium hah! In this case and I think for most, a matte medium (like Citadel's Lhamian Medium) which will have additives to thin the paint as well as smooth its coverage without detriment to the pigment. tl;dr - a matte medium works great!

Maruchan takes care of that. She likes to pick and scrape it off BAHAHHA High score if she gets it off in one piece.
