Way too cool.. been waiting a very long time since I bought the original and all the character packs for this one.. and I hope they produce more at a good pace. I play Hero Realms more often than Star Realms now. This looks a bit confusing at first, but I will study and practice when it comes out. Thanks for another great video Rodney. Hello there. Great video and explanations! I have a quick question regarding Targeting Restrictions. At timestamp 8:07, you mention that it is possible to target non-prepared minions in a player’s area during a player’s turn. How can a minion in a player’s area remain non-prepared after the Master’s turn? I believe that you mention at timestamp 7:42 that all active minions in a player’s area are put back in prepared position. And therefore, they cannot be non-prepared when the player’s turn begins, right after. Thanks for your help on this!

This is a rule they have "in case" they create card effects that would allow for this to be possible in the future.

Thanks for the video. I do have a question about the turns. Is it first the Monster, then player 1, then player 2 then the Monster. But in that case the active player will Always be the same. Or, is it Monster then player 1 then monster then player 2 ? Thanks

Hey Dom, I've a small bit of info for you. Hero Realms & Ruin of Thandar are not a board game. They are a card game. Many people attribute non video games as a 'board game' but they have no board! There are board games, role playing games, dice games, card games, etc! They are all 'tabletop games' however.

Unless there is a different translation in the french version of this game, there is an error in this video. You said that when a player/hero dies, the masters cards in front of him go to the master's discard pile, but in my french rulebook it says the cards go in front of the next adjacent player/hero. Also, i have one question. When gaining a new treasure card to upgrade cleric, ex. Veteran Squire I believe it's named, it says on the card it replaces Squire....but there are 2 Squire cards in the base deck....should it replace only 1 or both of them?

Hey there, I shot this long enough ago, I don't recall, and I've since passed the game onto a friend. If it helps, the publisher did check the video before it went live, so I'm relatively confident we had it right - unless they updated/changed the rule?

Just picked up hero realms and the character packs. Looking forward to getting the campaign as well if my playgroup likes it. So many 'except' or 'unless' keywords in this video that I am a little concerned it will be annoying to teach. Looks fun though!

I didn’t at all like the rules booklet, you a given 150 cards and no real idea what to do with them. I would like the starting point to be: sort all cards this way, set aside these cards, leave these in the box, replace these and so on. Should I mix all items into my draw pile? What do I do with all the abilities and skill cards? Should I really replace an ability with a skill card? I’m still not sure.

Normally I try my best to clarify anything that is confusing, but it's a bit tricky in this situation, as I don't know exactly which cards you're looking at that you are unsure what to do with - and I lent my copy of this game to a friend, so I don't have a version to cross reference against.

You do have to purchase the character packs. I believe there are currently 5 packs to choose from (Cleric, Ranger, Wizard, Fighter or Thief).

Hi When you have a imp minion in front of me and I have a red symbol in play it says stun the imp. Does that mean tap the card or discard back to the Master's deck? Stun in the Ruins of Thandar confuses me a little but it is a great expansion!

The easiest way to think about this is that minions are treated like champions in regards to game effects. So a stunned minion is sent to the master's discard pile.

For me the gane has big problems with the rules. I have two questions, may be somebodey knows how to handle the next two questions: 1) Are you keeping your lifepoints from chapter to chapter or are they resetting? 2) In the second chapter with the Imp: Are the Imps from outside the game triggering with their colours the skills of the Master-Imp again or not? Can somebody help me please....

I believe that if its one that you start with it is a level 3. However, for ones that you DO NOT start with you would buy the level 1 version and increase from there per the chart in the rulebook

The effect will only resolve when the card is flipped, not on each future turn.
