Great list. You could almost just invert it to get mine 😂. It’s so impressive to me that just a handful of designers can create such hero variety that can please people with such different tastes. You’d think they’d excel at one playstyle or another, but they’ve really created an incredibly broad spectrum to hero types here.

Very Funny! I share so many opinions with you, like Solo Rogue being really cool, Ironheart anticlimatic finisher despite the building process being fun, Hawkeye one arrow gimmick, Vision being so well balanced and interesting, etc. But... You put she hulk in the "don't enjoy" category, and you know she's my girl, she flip, she crush, and she's just my risk/reward character. Like Starlord for you, which I don't like at all lol.

Exactly lol! It's funny that She-Hulk is your favorite when there are understandable reasons to not enjoy her as much, and Star-Lord is my favorite when there are super understandable reasons why people don't like him lol. That's part of what I love about this game though. Everyone will have certain heroes that click with them and they enjoy. I'm glad you enjoy Vision and Hawkeye! Those two are some of my favorite heroes in the game. I understand people's complaints about Hawkeye, but he is just so fun that it doesn't matter to me. And I honestly don't understand why Vision isn't talked about more. His kit feels amazing. I think he is one of the stronger heroes in the game, and he is incredibly unique and fun, at least in my opinion.

@@DaringLime We are several defenders of Vision now: Winninghand/boomguy, AncientSlumber, you and me! And all of you are youtubers, so that is a plus! I think he suffer from the "blandness issue", which is surface level analysis. The guy just can do it all, and can do it all day with Reboot, which also can help his "busted" signature ally, that he can recur with in kit support. I mean the guy cover so much basis that most people fail to see his point. "He has no gimmick, no deckbuilding hook, his android tribe is not very well supported, etc". The guy is not about doing combo, even though you can. The guy is about having consistency, with a thwart event that can be an attack. With a thwart that can bypass crisis. With a form that can shutdown quickstrike minion. With a recovery that go to 5 on demand. With an upgrade that can remove status. And I stop here, because there's more to say about his kit lol. People are about flashy mechanical stuff, which create memorable moments, and I'm keen into that. But Vision is just about doing stuff that need to get done, because consistency win you game.

I like your categories! You have a lot of favourites, I skew to more Neutral/Don't Enjoy. My She Hulk is hovering around New Favourite/ Enjoy - she was a favourite back in season 1 but I haven't really played her since until just now. I do find that mostly the more I play a character the more likely I am to find a deck I like and have them improve in rating, since I am happy to play the same deck over & over & I seem to evaluate favourites on their best deck (my most fun one that is). I also don't like using other peoples decks plus mostly I do badly with them! We've next to no overlap in favourites either, just Black Panther, who rallied a lot this year after being one of few characters I stopped enjoying as much and Shadowcat & half your Neutrals are my favourites :)

Even though I haven’t played them as much recently I still can’t bring myself to say my old favorites aren’t super fun for me. And I skew higher than neutral I think because I really like the game. Out of the heroes I haven’t placed yet, do you have any predictions for where they’ll end up for me?

You're welcome! Comparing thoughts on all the heroes is just so fun. I'm interested to see how I feel about all the heroes I didn't place yet. I would imagine the ones in the "Want to play more" category will be neutral and above and the ones below that will likely be neutral and below. But I think it will be fun to see if any of them surprise me and go way higher or lower than I was expecting.

46:31 ... took over 40 minutes to acknowledge the biggest tragedy on this list LMAO. Just messing around (sorta), not every hero meshes with everyone and you have a couple of my favorites at the top so it balances out! Good list and I'll probably do a year end / year anniversary list myself coming up! Really fun to see your perspective on the heroes in the game.

LoLs on Rocket....Yeah that play-mistake is kinda (very) harsh! Glad you enjoy him now! :) Unleash the Phoenix!!! 🥳 I tend to like the characters that "allow/empower more fun & interesting combos" for deck-building. They don't have to be game-breaking, mostly *playing **WITH** my cards*! Sure, many can be "very strong in the moment" combos - that is the reason for doing it after all! Star-Lord with his auto-palm out *guardian* has long (since his day1) been a favourite with some *risky* high resource empowerment. Spider-Woman with her **full access** to 2 aspects to enable combos across aspects that other characters just cannot do. Adam Warlock with his 4 aspect little finger grabs.

Interesting video. I understand everybody has favorites and others who don't like playing, but I've never seen a chart like this. Honestly, I cant tell you what heroes you like cause besides She-Hulk you want to play all the characters. :)

I love seeing how different opinions are in terms of heroes. Miles Morales is in my bottom five (out of 25 heroes that I have). I like him-sometimes. But I love playing other heroes so much more. Captain America was an instant favorite for me: I can do this all day! So much fun. But my favorites are Bishop and Spider-Woman, they grew on me so well.

Nice list! Mine would be fairly different of course, but that's kond of the point of making something like this. I had a hard time with enjoying Colossus until someone showed me a deck where he can flip to alter-ego pretty much every turn after the first two or three. I made my own version of that deck and that completely changed my perspective.

@@Anondod I’ve seen people talk about that deck as well. I tried it once, and it wasn’t as consistent to get armor up as people told me it would be. Maybe I got unlucky though I gotta retry it. I would like to figure out a way of playing him that doesn’t require that strategy though lol. I’m glad you enjoyed the video! And I totally agree, it’s nice seeing that everyone has different favorites.

@@DaringLime I've played it a few times (my Leadership/Mutant Mayhem version of it) and I've found it to be very consistent. You can get unlucky of course, but in my eight or so plays that's been very rare. But yeah, I'd like other ways to play him as well.

@@DaringLime IME the studio isn't super important. You should expect to stay in hero form for a couple of turns right at the start, but if you have enough allies that shouldn't be too bad. My version of the deck is on MCDB as "Colossus Just Wants To Paint But Keeps Getting Punched In the Face".

I think I saw a different write up a while ago on mcdb that got a lot of likes that said you end every single turn in alter ego and you’ll get armor up every time and it is op and they defeated Ronan with that strategy. Staying up for a couple turns makes a lot more sense to me.

I'm gonna share a "hot take" about Magneto, because it seems the right place to do it. You are open minded, and I know people who follow you are chill too. So I hope no one take it as an attack or something, because it is just sharing viewpoint in the end. I think people on youtube overuse is magnetic pull ability, and then complain about losing consistency about aspect card. But I think those people just give in to one of the most famous sin, which is "greed". Which is really thematic for Magneto by the way. So hear me out people. Why don't you calm down a bit? For the first deck pass, just use it half of the time. "Oh but I lose money". And I say no "you don't lose anything, you just don't gain extra money". Five hand size hero are perfectly playable, and some are even better than 6 hand size hero, such as Captain Marvel. If you calm down on magnetic pull for the first deck pass, the time you setup your utopia, with forge, like any other x men hero who don't complain about having 5 hand size. If you take your time to setup your stat upgrade like combat training/heroic intuition, before milling like crazy. If you take your time to put your x jet, like Rogue or Storm, AND then you unleash your magnetic bullshit to go 6 hand size during the mid game like Iron Heart or Iron Man, who start with less than 5 hand size to begin with, maybe you will notice that Magneto "downside", is just your own "greed". Food for thought, no offense really. I'm just shake the hive mind to help people see if magneto can go beyond "milling like crazy", exactly like Adam Warlock can go beyond "wild tutor", and like Deadpool can go beyond "Maximum Effort / spider suit".

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I take no offense. I see where you are coming from. If I'm understanding correctly, your position is that if you have key cards for your deck to function like Forge, Utopia, etc. then don't use the magnetic pull ability as often before you have them out. That makes sense to me. I think the part I disagree about though (which I may have not stated clearly in the video) is that it does feel optimal to me to just use the magnetic pull ability to get to my key magnetic upgrades. I think it is worth discarding utopia if it means finding my cape faster for instance. The "downside" I feel for him is not that his magnetic pull ability will make my strategy weaker by discarding certain cards, it's that it feels like getting all of his upgrades out with magnetic pull is so powerful that it feels like I'm doing the same thing every game. I don't think there are no ways around it though. My first idea to get around it is to play leadership and use make the call because you can just play Forge out of the discard pile and search your supports back into your hand again. I'm sure there are more ways around it though, and I appreciate that you are looking for different perspectives for Magneto and other heroes! Another thing about Magneto that I didn't mention in the video is that I think he is fantastic with event based decks where he uses his hero upgrades, and then you just use the events when they are useful. No offense taken, and I appreciate your comment :)

@@DaringLime Glad we understand each other. I don't think "I'm holding the truth about Magneto" lol. It was just trying to shake things up, when the community seems to have "solved" the hero, so early. Hence my reference to Deadpool, Warlock who suffered from the same "issue". Sometime, doing the "devil's advocate", is just the path to examine the problem from all angles. 🤓

Interesting perspective. I know there are times I find card draw useless (only one card in hard or no cards in hand). It is rare, but skipping card draw can be wise.

@ ya I agree. There are times where I think it isn’t optimal to use magnetic pull. I do basically always try to draw as the first thing I do though so I can have the most options each turn.

I played Jubilee for the first time last night (precon) after looking at her deck and thinking "I don't know about this..." I was pleasantly surprised at how fun it was, and I'm looking forward to doing some actual deck building with her :)

@@frontendchaos that’s so great to hear! Jubilee doesn’t seem to be that popular. She is one of my favorites though. I have gameplays with her beating magneto on expert in solo with every aspect, and also one game defeating Ronan with her. And I made a very detailed guide for her that for some reason doesn’t show up when you search jubilee, but it has 8 deck build recommendations as well.

I wouldn't worry about Gamora's burst damage. When she's got her sword, her attacks are probably the most cost efficient in the game, and most of them are very cheap. A typical burst turn for her would be Set the Pace (1 damage from her Hero ability) + Decisive Blow (7 + 1 from the sword) + Acrobatic Move (2 + 1) + basic attack (2) = 14 damage, and that's not using her full hand or anything else she's built up like Fluid Motion or Test the Defense. Best case that's following a villain phase where she played Cross-Counter for another 1 + 1 (sword) + 1 (Hero ability) damage. Add an ally or two and she'll take down nearly any stage II or III villain in one turn.

@ true lol. I never actually have to deal with the encounter cards on Star lord though because the villain doesn’t survive. Recently I’ve been enjoying miles a lot. He is super safe and I enjoy his cards and he does over 30 damage very easily. But I also think he is just one of the best heroes in the game.

If you avoid events, focus on Armor Up, and flip down every turn, Colossus is almost too powerful. But you also have interesting timing decisions with all the alter ego supports.

@@EMBassyFIFA I have played every hero except spdr and spider woman. I just don’t think it’s fair to judge heroes that I haven’t put enough time to form solid opinions on. For instance nova, who I’ve played through an entire campaign and multiple other times is still in my need to play more tier even though I’ve played him more than other people with tier lists where they assign him a rating. I think it’s important to have humility when talking about heroes, and admit when you haven’t adequately explored their builds enough to have a strong opinion.
