Around the start of month 13 you were gifted 99999 sulfur, likely a few too many. Also Tazar has expert pathfinding which is functionally identical to wayfarers boots (reducing the most expensive tiles to enter from 175% cost to 100%) so you have been swapping boots for nothing.
