Heroes Need to Eat Too - Volunteers Cook for the Ukrainian Army in the East of the Country

Olena Hramova helped volunteers prepare delicious plov and cold lemonade for Ukrainian servicemen in Donbas, where fierce battles have occurred since 2022. Heroes are human, too, and they need delicious food and relaxation. So volunteers demonstrated their devotion to the Ukrainian defenders while staying near the front lines and making their routine a little bit better. I love 'em all...and personally, I give extra kudos to the cooks. Their role in ensuring that soldiers get well balanced nutrition & flavor, and fit for combat...instead of soldiers out of combat service 'cause they're too busy puking and crapping from salmonella or other food poisonings...is too often overlooked. Thumbs up, enjoy the food more than deserved! What I would like to have if I were a soldier when I came back from some patrol or from my guard especially in winter times for example is a bowl of hot soup either vegetarian or chicken. One could simply buy some chicken and from the wings and the torsos together with soup greens like celery, carrotes and parsnips and the love herb for soups lovage it cooks pretty fast. You keep the soup hot and aside you keep noodles or pancake stripes or semolina dumplings to put them inside. And on top of the soup you put some sliced chives. And with the breasts and the legs of the chicken you can cook the main course!

It's great for morale, it allows the people to show their appreciation for the soldiers and it shows the soldiers how much they are appreciated by the people. The Russian Government has no such love for its people or its soldiers they are just meat for the grinder.

reminds me of what i used to tell fools who said that russia might roll across europe. the local european forces would have the support of countless locals, and all local facilities, the population supporting them, as we can see in action here. invaders only get a corrupt extended supply line at best, ... defenders can call on the full citizenry for everything, from a box of matches to a tig welder or a computer technician. and this is 10x more important in winter. (like i have seen last winter, local pizza being delivered to ua forces, all these small things help). with a full modern national civilian infrastructure helping you, your chances of victory increase big time. many forget that important factor in the calculation.
