Didn't know this was coming out. They released Hammerwatch 2 last year and that was had a lot of problems with no updates. I hope Heroes 2 is good, the first one was awesome but super hard. Will keep an eye out.

I don't think the original is hard, but the upgrade prices in the town for unlocking stuff was way too high, I hope this one is a bit less grindy for sure!

Had a bunch of fun with the first Heroes of Hammerwatch's base game with the boys. Tried the "normal" Hammerwatch titles but they didn't feel as interesting or rewarding to play. The roguelike aspects the "Heroes" series adds makes a huge impact in my personal enjoyment in these games.

At the end you said that abilities can complement each other? So we can get an idea, do you have some examples that you can share?

I started with the ranger, everything compliments each other, you lay down a trap then send a volley of arrows at a pack, that marks them then they rush into your trap and you pick off the final few with your charged shot. It all feels pretty strategic and I'm in the early game yet. Haven't tried any other classes though but I imagine they all have abilities that synergize well!

I want to buy this but in the demo i kept dying by random rocks falling on me in the caves, an instant kill, not fun in a rogue lite.

I encountered these rocks too, but they didnt one shot me. But yeah I heard someone say that you can somehow see them coming / anticipate them, but I didn"t see them coming either. In the end yeah, perhaps not that great of an idea, especially since they do a ton of damage.

im playing wizard with no bonus health and it took about 40% of my hp, and makes a loud sound so you can dodge in time. though yeah i was confused at first what i even took damage from.

You can see the stones that you are not allowed to walk on on the ground, they also show up on the mini map as small dots!! It took me a death from one to work it out though lol! : )

It's fun! There's no trading afaik - you get individual loot but the pickups (health & mana) are single use so you need to share them. Being in coop lets you revive mid-run too
