Hey ! I just found your channel while looking for information for my first 4X; it's awesome, thanks a lot ! If I may, I have a quick question for you : which 4X would you recommand to begin with ? Right now, I got my mind on this one (Heroes of Land, Air and Sea), The Warp, Uprising : Curse of the Last Emperor, Fractal and maybe a classic one Eclipse : Second Dawn for the Galaxy. A big plus would be a solo option, as I know it's sometimes hard to gather players for enough time. And to be honest, I think even tho Heroes of Land, Air and Sea looks really great, I do prefer a Space Theme 4X (as you maybe can see with my previous selection ;) ) Thanks a lot and keep up with the awesome vids =) (Quick note, I'm new to 4X but I do play pretty "heavy" board games already)

I literally just woke up from a nap and went from "where the f*** am I?" to "oh my God 4X!!!!" So thank you so much for this awesome comment 🤣 So! You came to the right place.. Uprising is an amazing game thsolyou can play solo by controlling 2 factions (or more). I love this game but it is hard to find, expensive, no space theme and you need to be cool with randomness. Otherwise, it was in my top 5 of all time 2023. The Warp is.... nice, but I think there are better games in the 4X division (exploration is not so big there). Eclipse is awesome, though has its flaws, and also no solo mode. Fractal.... I've been meaning to give this game a few more chances before deciding. I love the combat there, it has solo mode that I've yet to experience, and there's suppose to be a module that makes it a true 4X with very good exploration. So I guess I would suggest Voidfall if you want a very good game that relies more on the euro side, has no randomness, space themed and also a good solo mode. That will be the safe choice. If you want something that is an amazing true 4X, space themed, solo mode (I didn't try it yet) and you don't mind some book-keeping, go for Space Empires 4X. Wow!! If you don't mind NOT a space theme game, eXploration is not as strong as other games, but the rest of the game is absolutely amazing- try Dark Ages. I did a review for it also so check it out.
