27:42 what does the red line around the piece means? The fire team doesn't have it, but the MG team has this red line.

I've got the digital version of Heroes of Normandie on Steam but must admit I've never played it. I don't know anything about this system so am interested to watch this video. But I don't have room in the house for any more games!!

I recently blew my copy from Shadows over Normandie from the dusty shelve and just love how this has the whole vibe a wargaming on a good budget with solid mechanics and atmosphere. I'm a big history buff/ sucker for the Race to Berlin so I would have loved to get a copy of Heroes of Stalingrad but I discovered yesterday Devil Pig Games went tits up and gone...

He's an old chap now 😊 I got my copy early last year off Amazon but I've also seen it on Zatu Games website too. It's usually not too difficult to track down. WOW, I love the artwork through out the game, the map system is wonderful, and the game seems to have layers to it. I am really looking forward to more of your content for this game. Does the game have a KV-2? The KV-2 is simply one of the coolest tanks... Hey it's Mr Jonnynil 😊 Really great to see you, thanks for popping in. Yes its definitely a 2 player game. BUT I never have a problem playing both sides. I learn much more that way and get to use all the weapons and tactics of each side. Plus I do have a couple of little 'tweeks' i use when playing solo and ill show that in the playthrough. Also they now have a SOLO expansion of course but I don't have that yet! 👍

Hi Charles, good to see you 👍 I know what you mean, it cries out for miniatures. It certainly gives a minis feel, even when you pick up and move the big counters it feels similar to moving a base of figures!

@@soloboardgaming yep. I have been buying up many ancient ships, Roman, Greek, whomever, so I can use the models instead of counters for Avalon Hill's Trireme game. I did have a couple dozen that I had bought last century and got to get more. Something about the words "ramming speed" are very invigorating. Lol. Or the cartoon that I saw that said something to the effect of, "Tell the rowers they can rest for now, but the captain wants to go skiing later..."😱 Wound up buying six Napoleonic miniature ships. I blame JK Rowling. Was watching Harry Potter movies 🧹 while painting and found the French ship Hermione for sale at Noble Knight games. So it became a purchase of six ships (me: ohhh, not too expensive, some of them at least) instead of just getting one Hermione. Lol Going to need 💲💲a couple more Brits because the 3 French ships significantly out gun the three Brits that I bought. I do believe I'm burning the candle at both ends and at 304 places in the body of the candle.😱 ... And there's the 2 mm figures I bought...😳 Dear Lord help me. 😈 Sorry for going off the verbal deep end I haven't had enough coffee yet to still the noises in my brain... Be safe be well.

A lot of people don't like the box art etc. There are several games that have this kind of approach 'comic book' style. But the counter art is something else entirely, really stunning and looking very much like miniatures. But yes, its a 'Marmite' thing for sure!

It is very ugly and the buildings don’t have any resemblance to buildings lol. One of the worst map artwork I ever seen for a tactical game.
