Old comment but the first cinematic I ever saw of WoW was that one. When Gul'dan (had no idea who he was at the time) told Varian "you will be remembered as the king who sacrificed himself... for... nothing" and Varian replied with "For. The. Alliance." well there are certainly reasons the horde and alliance could work together to fight things like Arthas and Deathwing. In the end, they are two nations with different cultures, but the core ideas are the same. Honor, duty, and self-preservation are found on both sides. As are deceit, hatred and blood lust of course :) That's what I love about fantasy, it allows us to delve into discussions on difficult topics like politics without the added baggage of established political parties. People can take sides without having to deal with loads of historical connotation
