Valve didn't. Eul (the original creator of Dota) and IceFrog both sold their rights to Dota to Valve. And Valve even won the Lawsuit against Blizzard because of that. Assets in a game mod don't equate to intellectual property.

developers will always sleep on mobile platforms because eventually they're not the ones profitting from such decision but the company. You will always hear similar complaints from the devs such as 'muh directx' or 'muh x86' but it always boils down to just not wanting to do extra work for free.

Blizzard did the same they did with Hearthstone: Simplify a game that already exists (Magic, or in this case Dota, LoL) and put in the Warcraft Lore universe. I see no effort and the target audience must be kids, teens because the game look so terribly simple, compared to what it tries to emulate. Can be fun, not gonna lie, but I think Blizzards attempt looks lazy with no creativity at all.

HoTS has way better game design and is the way superior game. And lazy? Just look at the dozen maps and objectives and actual effort put into balancing. And several builds are viable per hero. LOL and DotA2 has nothing like that and is way more “lazy”.

the most fucked up game I've had the chance to play.. ... setting ranks, choosing teammates, trolling, when you're in silver 5 for example.. and you end the game prematurely because you know it's a waste of time, so it puts you back in bronze 5 and you go again. awkward game concept as a whole.

It's much more team fight oriented than LoL. Just a lot more action in much less time, with similar layers of strategy. I played league for many years before I switched over to HotS and I never looked back.
