I got a lap steel recently and it’s just the most heavenly sound and feeling. When done well, the steel guitar resonates deeper and any other electric instrument

@@galenmarek8287 yeah I've never seen a humbucker with angled pole pieces. I imagine it helps balance the volume and tone across the strings

The breakdown of what affects tone in electric instruments: 5% guitar construction, 25% pickup, 60% the right amplifier, and 10% convincing the guitarist that he really doesn't need eighty pedals, he needs to practice

Each chord change in the progression has its own resolution note (the bass note is distanced at least an octave from the melodic note). If I had to put it into words, I think about the scale of mountains or valleys, the melody makes me think of the height of adventure and the resolving bass notes make me think that home isn't just one place, its where you are and the people you're with, no matter how close or far you are from your actual home; home is where the heart is Idk why i felt like becoming a KZbin philosopher slash music theorist lmao who knows i could be wrong and just talking out my ass but these are the emotions i feel

Magic!!! Just love you're style of playing. My all time favourite of your's is...Harvest Moon. Gives me goosebumps everytime l hear it, as do most of the music you play. You are an absolute fantastic musician and play that instrument beautifully. Well done!!!!!

This was uploaded a day after David Bowie's life ended all too soon and all too abruptly. I think ending the song in the same manner was a beautiful touch by Mr. Goetze .

You know someone has nailed an instrumental take on a legendary song when your mind's ear hears the lyrics anyway, and the playing manages to embody the human voice without any electronic funny business. This is fantastic, but too brief.

Lovely job 👏👍, been messing with this song recently,I can get the screaming whaling sound using the delay reverb setting's on my zoom pedal and a bottle slide, sounds very close, I don't think I've ever heard anyone replicate the sound on the record playing live, with Bowie,he always intentionally puts a different spin on it, stunning song, I didn't know what it was about for decades 😂

For all those out there loving this song but aren't familiar with it - check out the original by David Bowie and also the covers by Motorhead and the Wallflowers. I'm sure there are lots of others out there in KZbin land that I haven't yet heard/seen, but those three are quite good. Enjoy.... :)
