Each chord change in the progression has its own resolution note (the bass note is distanced at least an octave from the melodic note). If I had to put it into words, I think about the scale of mountains or valleys, the melody makes me think of the height of adventure and the resolving bass notes make me think that home isn't just one place, its where you are and the people you're with, no matter how close or far you are from your actual home; home is where the heart is Idk why i felt like becoming a KZbin philosopher slash music theorist lmao who knows i could be wrong and just talking out my ass but these are the emotions i feel

Lovely job 👏👍, been messing with this song recently,I can get the screaming whaling sound using the delay reverb setting's on my zoom pedal and a bottle slide, sounds very close, I don't think I've ever heard anyone replicate the sound on the record playing live, with Bowie,he always intentionally puts a different spin on it, stunning song, I didn't know what it was about for decades 😂
