Jonathan always had to die from a heart attack, it's what cements Kal-El's humanity. Even will all his strength and powers there is nothing he can do to stop a twist of fate in the human condition. And as far as this new trailer........it seems like its going to be one of the movies of all time........straight to the CW Network. Matt Rife looks great as Clark/Superman. Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jonathan?....gtfo of here lmao. They even let David Turpin out of prison to play Guy Gardner...nice.

Krypto (superdog) is usually depicted by generic white dogs, such as a Labrador, White Shepherd, Husky, or Dalmatian. But for this upcoming movie, it was inspired by James Gunn's dog, Ozu, which is a rescue dog. Background: Ozu came from a hoarding situation in a backyard with 60 other dogs. He was initially difficult to manage, destroying furniture, shoes, and even Gunn's laptop. Gunn said, "I remember thinking, 'Gosh, how difficult would life be if Ozu had superpowers?'" - He announced Krypto's appearance in the film during Adopt a Shelter Dog month in October

I think you can see the exact moment where we’re really going to see David Corenswet show the range of his acting capabilities to play this character. It’s right after he gets heckled by the crowd and has a can thrown at his head as he walks into the building. It’s that moment where he realizes that humanity still doesn’t trust him or wants him. He’s got to be convinced that he’s what they need even if they don’t think they need him.

This is a true comic book movie where Superman represents hope and is a beacon of light for the people. My eyes filled up with tears listening to the score and then seeing Krypto. This Superman reminds me so much of Christopher Reeve's movie that is lighthearted and a protector of the people. This is the type of movie we need today, not dark like Zack Snyder's James Gunn did a great job.

Trailers don't often do that, but this trailer gave me goosebumbs. It just feels right. And there's a lot about it that i like. First and foremost, Krypto, of course. Barreling through the snow like a one-dog-stampede coming to Superman's aid. He alone, in my opinion, signals a more lighthearted take on Superman. I love that the theme is VERY reminiscent of William's classic Superman-March.I also love that the trailer forgoes a title card. Because come on, it's Superman, everyone knows that. And the rising chorus of voices in the background shouting his name - another thing i like - says it already... Also that it's started by a desperate kid at the other side of the world crying out for help. For hope. For Superman. I trust James Gunn with this. I did so from the moment they announced he'd take charge of the DCU. And although i'm not agreeing with all of his decisions so far, i believe he can do this. This trailer feels right.

I have not been a Superman fan and not for the reasons you mentioned but I’ve wanted to be. When I heard James Gunn talk about his version I was listening because I knew he had a chance to give me what I’ve been wanting. I think the smartest thing he did was show Superman vulnerable at the beginning of the teaser because it means every effort to save people isn’t always easy for him and there can be a threat that’s hard for him but he’ll do it anyway. For context, I used to not like Captain America (I was exposed to the Jingoistic forms of him in the comics and that repelled me) but when that Chris Evans movie came out I suddenly cared about Cap and loved him. Cap started weak and knew what it was to be bullied so when he got the serum he wanted to protect others. Perfect So people that think the issue is people not liking wholesome characters I think don’t understand that’s not what the problem is and it’s that we haven’t seen a good representation yet

you can tell from the trailer that this project seems to be led by someone that actually likes the superman character and isn't trying to to make him darker or edgy to appeal to 'fans' that jumped on the dc train after the nolan batman trilogy. Also I know that gunn is probably pulling from tons of different DC comics but my mind instantly jumped to the justice league cartoon when I saw hawkgirl and Mr terrific. Seeing Guy gardner also gives me hope that we get a jessica cruz somewhere down the line in this universe.

Love the idea that some superheroes already existed for a while and have their history. The perfect moments in mcu like that were introduction of Black Panther and Spiderman. They were just there for Tony and Natasha to look at and recruit in their world. They existed off the screen until characters in our story reached out to them.

I have been a Superman fan from the 80’s, remembering watching Superman when it first came out on film, him being the moral character that he is, is the greatest superpower, and thats we as humans can emulate that part of him, we can imitate the good that he shows us. It’s easy to get stuck on a certain actor (ahem..Cavil) but for me, I focus on the Character, and this Character or version of Superman looks like he will pull the strings of everyone watching, the emotion, the action..the storyline will bring that all together. I cannot wait for the next trailer, I wonder when that will come out?

I agree with Agustin with the fav shot being the saving of the girl 7:53 but my mind went instantly to the animated episode of flash vs Superman when they did laps around the round while saving people… I need to see… the flash for this universe and a live action race flash vs Superman as in intro sense to a justice league movie… but that’s ways in the future. I’m just glad I hopped on this timeline to experience this tease.

After the _incredible_ series "Superman & Lois", and all the recent movies which i thought were... okay, I honestly wasn't amped up for this movie. Until I saw this trailer. I hope the flick is as good as it looks like it could be.

It was Krypto and Mr.Terrific thst sold me. Hopefully, Mr. Gunn will capture the essence of the true version of Mr. Terrific Hollywood has never really given us a day. Definitive, a version of this character who is by far one of my top 10 favorite DC heroes of all time, third smartest man in the DC universe, and he has never been done respectfully outside of that. People who've done fan films on him.

I’m so happy. I feel like I got the animated Superman brought into the real world. Superman isn’t meant to always be a discussion on the human/savior complex. He’s there to be hope, hope for the defeated, the broken, the helpless. That’s what he does. He helps.

i’m excited about this movie but henry will always hold a special place in my heart. the score itself by zimmer makes those movies so special to me. i’m glad they brought back the original score too that’s awesome

Man of Steel is one of my favorite singular films. However, it never truly captured the magic of Superman. Even Henry himself has said that he never got to play the Superman he wanted to be. He would've shined in this film but his time has passed.

As a big Marvel fan that hasn't enjoyed the DC movies I'm actually interested in this one, looking forward to it even. I don't expect this to follow "the marvel formula" but it's much more what I'm looking for than the past DC movies
