Most moving rendition of this beautiful song I have ever seen. Totally brought me to tears. He performed with such emotion it's clear this song meant so much to him and that clarinet solo at the end... WOW.

By far the best singer/songwriter to have ever walked this earth. I feel sorry for all of those who have not yet discovered or learned to appreciate the incredible well of beauty this man left behind by leaving us at age 56. Truly only the good die young. Forever missed.

Now that you've found this song, look up the rest of this great artist and his other hits. You will not be disappointed. If you already have, please disregard this comment 😎. Let me add this though, since you like this song and the story it tells, look up the real story behind the song. You'll probably cry all over again. Sorry, but not sorry. You'll understand.

He’s dying here, but had to get this performance done for the innocent love ❤️ he had back in school, a love he couldn’t get back, but only through this song 🎵

He was diagnosed with advanced cancer in 2004, the year this was recorded. It was as if he was singing this alone in his studio, instead of at a concert. There is so much emotion in his voice. He was an amazing musician and songwriter. He is truly missed. ❤️

Dan Folgelberg was an artist major while in college. In high school he was in a rock band but almost didn't pursue a musical career because he said they mainly played partys and school dance gigs and you didn't get much applause and the pay wasn't much. So, he went on to college to become an artist. He said that after a few years both him and the college agreed that he wasn't really going to be much of a great artist and the rest is history!

Saw Dan when I was living in LA at the old Universal amphitheater. I dragged my gf at the time. She started to cry. It reminds me of my East Coast birth place of which I now reside. I now visit the places my old gf and I frequented on New Years. And I cry!!

The man in the video is not Dan Fogelberg but an imposter. Dan was never that hefty, never wore a suit. The last time Dan Fogelberg performed live was in 1999 when he was promoting the Portrait album, an 18 months tour. He suffered a stroke in fall 2000 that messed him up so badly, he retired.

Dan Fogelberg never performed in this venue. He had a small following of fans and always performed in smaller venues. He wasn't performing in 2004. His final live performances were an 18-month tour from 1997 to 1999 to promote the " Portrait" album. After that, Fogelberg retired in 2000. And he was Never heavy. The man in this video is an imposter.
